Court of public opinion looms large in George Zimmerman murder trial

Exactly. After listening to the juror last night it seemed pretty clear the jury would have convicted GZ of a proper charge. Corey proved to be incompetent and ridiculously overcharged GZ as some of us have said from the beginning.

right but how about you? do you believe what Zimmerman did was wrong?

The post isn't about my thoughts. Pay attention.

that's why I asked you for your thought. I guess we're not gonna get any straight answer from you since you don't want to answer my question. that's ok.

moving on.

I know these questions are for TXgolfer. Nevertheless, if you allow me to answer the last question whether or not I believe what GZ did was wrong, I believe that GZ did nothing wrong. I agree with his lawyer, O' Mara who said that GZ had rights to be where he was.

gotcha. :ty: for your straightforward answer. TXGolfer - take "note" of this.

All I can say is I wish the trial hadn't brought race into the picture...

This is coming from a Japanese American and current law school student.

The sad part is a teenager got killed and the media didn't need to get involved as much as they did. This case wouldn't even be so popular if someone decided to use the term, "White Hispanic." I don't see George Zimmerman, as an Asian, "full on white" just like I don't see Obama as "full black."

In any case, hopefully this case can be one of those that benefit future people in the criminal justice system in the future and help people realize that the law isn't always the best thing we can like or dislike.

Sad but when "some" African Americans do stuff like burn the flag, hurt innocent people, riot and destroy property, they are making their race look bad!!! This is what a lot of people including African Americans are saying around here.

Go after the right people, register to vote, sit on the jury.

Exactly. Stuff like this just confirms negative stereotypes

Go after suspicious stranger is dangerous, unless you have death wish.

That what my parent told me about never go after suspicious person.

Not surprised, that why I won't answer his question anymore.

You are free to ask any questions, though.

It never occurred to me that would come up as a parent-child topic. As a child, I wouldn't think of going after a suspicious stranger (I wasn't Nancy Drew).

From what I heard on Anderson Cooper interview of one of the woman on the jury. She said the women did not understand the rules and there was only one way to go. She made it sound like it was easier to just vote 'not guilty' because the woman understood what the meant. And let face it you and I will not agree on this trial in a thousand years! And I do not have agree with the 'Not Guilty' verdict ! And who the HELL are you to tell me what to do!

The jury has spoken and your commentary makes you un-American. There's something very, very basic that you are not understanding and I blame myself for not helping you see this fine point.

Depends on what you mean by "wrong." Morally, legally, or common sensical?

I believe Zimmerman was within his legal rights to be where he was and do what he did.

However, I don't believe what he did by getting out of his vehicle was prudent or wise.

I think not necessarily un-American, just biased to the views of some other local government. she may just be unsupportive of Florida law. Had this happened in another state, the story might be different and she would have full support over the issue..

I agree; morevoer, his lack of judgement, profiling, etc does not rise to murder/manslaughter.

His being properly charged would have gotten him a couple years of prison time but this was beneath the likes of Sharpton/Jackson who make a living on racism. So it all backfired on them and we now have a fine mess on our hands and the people really responsible will just waltz away to strike another day.

But it isn't illegal to go after suspicious person, however it can lead to more complication.

For me, it is just surprised, similar to overdose on Tylenol pills, eyeball tattoo, drink a lot of alcoholic beverage, drive poorly maintenance cars (bad engine), eat allergic foods (if you know that you are allergic to certain food), eat a lot of fast food everyday, etc.

It is about common sense.

All I can say, Naisho, is that I disagree and think perhaps you haven't seen her commentary over a wide range of topics. I'll just quit right here.

Oh well, it is just opinion.

I think not vote is un-American, IMO.

The jury trial based on common law was originally from England so should call "un-British". :hmm:
