I go to Lenscrafters.
Acuvue is good I liked it but not excellent at night on road.. day time no problem... I see red around the edges of Acuvue Advance lens. when take contact off I have red circle eh.. :) (not all the time) also I work on computer so when i look down then up my vision get blurred because the lens moves...
but I do want to try the PureVision by Basuch & Lomb which has 30 days extended wear... rounded edges... clear at night... lens does not move if looking down/up http://www.purevision.com so that's why i want to try this.

Quoted from other thread to avoid going off topic...

I have astigmatism so I wear eyeglasses at home and wear contact lens when go out for all day. (I like to wear sunglasses but don't want a Rx sunglasses so contact lens is a way to go!)

So has anyone tried PureVision by B&L yet? if so, how is it?
I haven't run out of my Acuvue Advance w/astigmatism yet.. Once I do, i am gonna for trial on PureVisoin.

and also to let you guys know that B&L is offering "Bausch & Lomb Wear&Care Program" for free. just go to this page, http://www.bausch.com/en_US/consumer/coupon_and_rebates.aspx then see "Bausch & Lomb Wear&Care Program" and click "Learn More"
I got mine few days. It's gonna save me some bucks from buying more lens storage cases eh. :D Because it include 12 lens cases! (12X2.00=$24.00 saved!)
Also in that program, a trial coupon for new contact lens, PureVision is included. (which I will use it)

Also on the same page in that link is a rebate for new PureVision. If Purevision is right for me then I'll use that rebate to save $$ :D

I'm using Acuvue Advance right now until next month then visit vision center and ask doctor about change other contact brand if can feel comfortable to see when driving at night because old one is totally discomfort and it make my eye so dry at every night, also same with driving at night. I just avoid to driving after sunset until get new brand of contact.

How long when Purevision is last? Acuvue Advance is just last about every 2 weeks.

how long? see answer in my quote above

I tried contacts for my astigmatism, and I started having problems with my eyes getting dried out and with allergies and with the lenses rotating. I don't mind wearing glasses full-time, so I just went back to that. I'm just glad I gave contacts a try--I never would have given them a try otherwise.

And for sunglasses, I have these purple mirrored clip-ons that I bought at the dollar store. ;) I'd rather spend $1 on a pair of clip-ons than spend an extra $100 on Rx sunglasses.

Honestly, I haven't tried Pure Vision. I also have astigmatism, so I am only using Acure Advance brand contact lens from Wal Mart. I have bought two packs of 6 lens at $35.00 about every six months. Plus, I wear a regular and cheap sunglasses I bought from a drug store and eyeglasses almost every night at home...

Hey, why not apply for Coopervision.... they are screaming for hiring... and they offer free contact lens for first time, then ten dollars thereafter for a box! :-D

Boult, do you have vision insurance? Just curious...

Kingofnoobs, Acuvue Osayas is not designed for those with astigmatism.

under Acuvue brand that is for astigmatism is Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism or Acuvue Toric. see this link: ACUVUE® Contact Lens - Discover What ACUVUE® Contact Lenses Can Add to Your Life.

seattleguy, I would recommend you to try Pure Vision by B&L you can get 30 days wear instead of 2 weeks replacement.

I am on the trial and I am loving it. lot better than Acuvue Advance. No irritation, no blurring when looking down/up. clear at night. I see clearer farther than Advance. no redness visible around the lens (while wearing), that's due to soft round edge. stay wet longer than acuvue.

Cheri,
your post from: http://www.alldeaf.com/general-health/30257-any-insurance-can-cover-lasik-2.html#post566352

Yes, it is great, you should try that on a trial basis, get a trial coupon from B&L website. It's monthly replacement and grab that "Wear&Care" package.
http://www.purevision.com/

It is lot better than Acuvue Advance. In Jan, I'll order a 6 month package and I can stretch it to a year because I do not need to wear it everyday :) just 30 uses then replace and on. you know? Of course, my eye doctor says it cost more than Acuvue (a box of course) but over a year, both cost about the same since Acuvue = 2 weeks Purevision= 30 days

It is not all about "looks so perfect" it is about seeing things clearly far and near.

I'm thinking about getting contact lenses...I don't have astigmatism but I've got a very mild lazy eye. I dunno how much they cost, though, since I know Medicaid will NOT pay for them. I'm real tired of wearing glasses.

Just questions...

Does your medicaid will pay when you go visit at eye doctor to take eye exam and few other test then ask them to write on prescription and just order contact lenses at store department, such as Wal-Mart or Target for cheap price.

If not then you can take eye exam at Wal-Mart or Target then they will find correct contact lenses for you and eye exam is cost around under $100.

Yes, my Medicaid and Medicare will pay for the eye exam and I can get the paper prescription from the doctor for contact lenses, but I will have to pay for the contact lenses myself.

*Scratching my head* That threw me off too but I wonder if sara1981 meant her vision is still very good? And hence having no need for contacts or glasses?!?

That's cool, also same here. I have going buy new contact lenses in next few month at Wal-Mart or Target, also my parent's insurance was dropped me off because of not attend at school and I have no insurance and currently own Medicaid right now. I have some contact lenses to left and not wear so often, also don't wear glasses anymore.

I got hired at Wal-Mart and wait for them to call about when start work, also boss said that if I work here about more than 90 days then I can get benefit for health insurance. I feel that SSI and Medicaid will drop me off bcause my job is full time (about 40 hours per week).

I only have good sight on left eye and right eye is little blurry and lazy, I only wear contact lenses for driving since my driver license is require to wear contact lenses.
