The flag will be coming down in SC at 10 :00 am Friday . I hope people will be able to move on in SC and not have any protests about this .

It will not get move on because pro-confederate will have very larger deomonstation and it may hurt lawmaker's ability to win the reelection.

Reba, does politcially correctness will affect your vote with lawmaker?

It depends on what it is; that is, is that really just PC.

Which lawmaker did you have in mind?

Take confederate flag down due to racism is politically correctness and supermajority of lawmkers voted to remove the confederate flag from state capitol ground.

I saw too many people from out of state, calling Nikki to resign or recall to remove her from office, so I have nothing to say because I'm not from SC and I respect SC voters.

Personally, I don't think the Confederate flag should be flying on the grounds of any current government agency. It's not a flag representing a current government. I'm fine with it flying over historic sites, monuments, and cemeteries. If people want to fly them on private property, that's OK, too.

She's not going to resign or be recalled.

BTW, she's not a lawmaker--she's not part of the legislative branch. As governor, she's part of the executive branch.

Have you seen comments under Fox News on FB and many of them are calling Nikki to resign or recall her, but most of them are not from SC.

No, I haven't. If those people aren't from SC, then they have no say in our governor. They're just trying to make trouble.

Our state would be OK if the carpetbaggers would stay out.

I have been bullied by commenters under Fox News on FB and they mocked my disability (retinitis pigmentosa/usher syndrome) so they hurt my feeling.

There has been many Confederate memorial and statues in the former Confederate States. It should be left alone as a memorial for the battlefield and the famous Generals (Lee, Longstreet, Jackson) also Confederate President Jefferson Davis too. It doesn't matter to me if they put up the flag up or not but I do not agree on the removal of Confederate flag on Ft Sumter where the first shot of the war took place. A major battleground should remain as a historical symbol and should be left alone. Same goes for Gettysburg as well. The flag should also be left alone at the cemetery where the Confederate veterans resting place.

When I attended USC, it was already an issue where ithe flag was removed from the capitol dome to the current memorial location. It's unusual it takes a life changing event to settle it at all. After reading more about the history of the flag, found a bit of an irony there. It originally stood for the separation from the Union, a way of aknowledging the formation of their own government. However, after the civil war, a few remnants of the Confederate Army decided to wage guerilla warfare which took a bad turn to include racial attacks while using the flag. Bad decision for sure, but for some of us who are descendants, it can have various meanings. In my eyes, I'm proud of who I am, but never perceive a hatred toward anyone. We are part of the Union and I agree the flag is best flown over historical memorials and personal property. I hope the matter would be put to rest someday.

Did I hear, correctly or incorrectly, that the flag was raised on the state capital in protest of desegregation? If that's true, then it is flying as a racist sign.

I'm also curious if other state capitals fly flags other than their state flag & the U.S. flag. I feel those are the only flags that should be flying at state capitals.

You told us that you were offended by confederate flag. :aw:
No, I support black people who are offended by this flag. In other words, if they look at it as a racism, I understand why they feel that way. I won't argue with them but I will argue with you. LOL

What I am saying is that if you wear a T-shirt with this flag decal in public, I am not going to beat you up but some black people might. If they do, I support them.

I don't think that this kind of display (something like a baseball cap or T-shirt with the decal) is allowed at USPS nationwide including the Southerns who work in those former slave states.
