College Bowl games!!!

It seems as though my team is the only one in the Big 10 that decided they might WIN their bowl game! GO HAWKS!!! The rest of the Big 10, I just thought I would remind you, YOU ALL SUCK!! lol Big 10 1-5 with one left.. OSU and chances are they are going to lose also..

Ohio State? Ohio State sucks!!!! :giggle:

Wow, guys. Well, its official. My alma matter beats Alabama 31-17.

2 undefeated seasons in 4 years time, 2 BCS wins in 4 years. Party it up tonight guys, you've earned it!

Congrats on your team wins!!! My hubby did want Alabama to win, but he is happy for his dad that his dad won. His father went to that college in Utah in 1951 or '52. Did you go that college as well? His dad still has his foot locker from that college and a jacket. He had given to my hubby after he sold the house. It is pretty old...:D

many people said Big Ten is overrated, so resulted they are right

I have to say I am happy to see an FL team National Champs but Gator Nation will only last so long :P hehe UM may have struggled a bit but their a young group this year yet doing pretty good so give em a year or two ... UM National Champs coming soon! haha

p.s. I agree with candybrowneyes... season end stinks! :(

It has been a while since last I was here. So allow me first to congratulate those college fans...

Doug: Utah Utes seized Alabama! It really surprised me and many others as how great they were as a team. I think Gators demoralized them after defeating them in a great SEC championship game then they entered the Sugar Bowl against Utah whom they felt they own 'em before playing 'em, but Utah proved them wrong big time. Congratulations!

PowerOn and TexasGuy: I'm glad for your Longhorns beating Ohio State although I wish they were playing better than that but a win still. McCoy returns back so it should be a better year for them next fall.

USC destroyed Penn State as expected. Boring Rose Bowl matches as usual... nuff said.

Few other "hot" bowl games were quite fun to watch, too.

Florida Gators, the BCS National Champions!!!

The BCSCG was a blast game for everyone to enjoy the intriguing match of Florida and Oklahoma. It had me nervous for the most of the game till last three minutes... just too much anticipation for me, really but couldn't ask for a great game. Oklahoma was that good but not as great as advertised due to the fraud B12 defenses as the bowl games have exposed. But it was an awesome and entertaining game!

Tebow, once again, led the team in the 4th quarter and revealed like he usually does. He's one of a kind player, a legend. Our defense team did extremely well stopping Oklahoma to 14 points and lowest yards total... you know, they scored 60+ in last six games but yet resulted as a 'Choklahoma' once again. :giggle: Harvin was awesome, too playing well despite being 80-90% healthy.

Too many things to say but am sure that you guys watched the exciting game. So the Gators seized the Crystal after all!

Iowa? grrrrrr I really hate Iowa after they beat PSU and shattered our dream on BCS Championship Game :(

Well it was nothing new. We are used to beating Penn State. Also, Penn State got killed by USC and would have totally been Dismantled by Florida. They didn't deserve to play in the Championship and their performance in their bowl game showed that. They are a great team just not the best.

Florida Gators don't deserve to be No. 1 since they lose to to UNRANKED team in early fall. Neverless, the stupid BCS computer vote to support.

I believe Utah should be true No. 1 as undefeated. No 2 should be Texas.

Make sense because USC and Penn State lost to UNRANKED team, also. What a shame, stupid and foolish voter to put them top.

I believe Utah should be too, but who did Utah really play? And Texas barely won their Bowl game. Its just hard to tell who the best is because on ANY given Saturday upsets happen and la la la.. lol

It was just dumb luck for Ohio while they make unimpressive against two high ranked while Texas did better against on 4 ranked team in 4 game rows. It's one of tough schedule they play in 2008.

Think Utah deserves it? Nah... no way! Why?

Let me explain you the reasons here...

Florida beat back-to-back #1 teams... Florida plays in the toughest division within the toughest conference in the nation... Florida's loss to Ole Miss is better than every other one-loss team... Don't count OU because we already played them head-to-head at a neutral field in Miami for the BCSCG... so no other one-loss team has that resume.

For USC, If that bothers ol' Petey boy, well, tough. Stop losing to the Stanfords and Oregon States of the world. :lol:

As for Utah, sure, great season...a season that wouldn't be without blemish if they replaced Weber State, Utah State, Air Force, UNLV, and San Diego State with some legitimate BCS opponents. They couldn't do it week-in and week-out, let's say, in the SEC or Big 12 conference so Utah couldn't be 13-0 playing in the SEC or Big 12 conference.

-------------------

Florida Beat;

#1 - Alabama (SECCG - neutral field)
#1 - Oklahoma (BCSCG - neutral field)
#4 - LSU (home)
#6 - Georgia (neutral field)
#20 - FSU (away)
#25 - South Carolina (home)

Those were the rankings when the Gators played those teams. Both #1 Alabama and #1 Oklahoma were on a neutral field that Florida played and beat. SEC bowl record was 6-2.

If Utah, USC, Texas or Oklahoma did better than Florida then you need a better argument. USC's schedule was quite weak. Utah didn't play enough ranked teams. No one can compare Utah's schedule to Florida's schedule, it isn't even close... remember that it's indeed tougher to win one every week and out in the SEC conference than it does in the Mountain West Conference (Utah's conference).

All rankings are when the teams were played....

Texas played;

#1 Oklahoma (neutral field)
#6 Oklahoma St. (home)
#7 Texas Tech (away and a loss)
#10 Ohio State (Fiesta Bowl)
#11 Missouri (home)

Texas's one tough loss was the last second touchdown by Texas Tech (away). Texas beat Oklahoma by ten points in the neutral field. Although Texas boldly beat a quite lowly Ohio State by 3 points. Big 12 bowl record was 5-3. Defenses were exposed.

USC beat;

#5 Ohio State (home)
#8 Penn State (Rose Bowl)
#21 Cal (home)
#23 Oregon (home)

USC's one loss was beaten by Oregon State (at their field). But USC's schedule was quite weak. PAC 10 bowl record was 5-0... a surprise, however.

Utah beat;

#4 Alabama (Sugar Bowl)
#12 TCU (home by 3)
#14 Brigham Young (home)

Although they beat Alabama at Sugar Bowl after Florida beat them at SEC championship game. Utah's conference is weaker than B10, B12, PAC10, SEC, etc... check the rest of Utah's opponents; Weber State, Utah State, Air Force, UNLV, and San Diego State... all weak except two fair teams. MWC bowl record was 3-3.

Some sources, which I find interesting, recommend Utah to join PAC 10 conference making PAC 10 a 12 team conference instead of 10 then that would have a gripe argument once they have Utah and Boise State (or BYU) to join. So it could get around the BCS system, supposedly.

----------------

Bowl Teams which the Gators played, it's ELEVEN, seven SEC teams and four out of conference teams...

1 - *Oklahoma
2 - Alabama
3 - *FSU
4 - South Carolina
5 - Vandy
6 - Georgia
7 - Kentucky
8 - LSU
9 - Ole Miss (a win over Fla)
10 - *Miami
11 - *Hawaii

* - Not SEC teams

-----------------

Also there is another look (check the facts above):

Gators were 6-0 against top 25 teams

Utah were 3-0 against top 25 teams.

Especially in the very last two games, Florida beat two #1 teams, Alabama and Oklahoma so please keep mind on that.

So it's the total and legit reasons why many voters voted Florida as the #1 over Utah. It said aloud enough.

So Utah Utes... despite your excellence win over Alabama alone doesn't cut it here (being #1) coming from a WAC conference. Trust me if there is a grand jury before you and me they would still say it's Florida after all is evaluated in fairness, really.

Therefore lay it to the rest knowing the facts that Florida deserves the honor going along with the BCS system as it is set already. Someday in near future, we may have playoffs come which I really long for, but we need to deal with the BCS system till then.

So Florida is unarguably the National football Champions! :D
