Hello to all..

My name is Richard Gaffney, I just sign up on the 20th of Jan. My right implanted was on 02/28/07 and activation was on 03/29/07 and my left was implanted just got surgery on 01/02/2008. will activation on 02/05/08. The reason why my left hearing aid try to get it working correctly and it failed becasue my hearing aid not supported for me anymore. so, I talk to my doctor about getting another ci. and say to me, ok, fine. and Iam excited to get one.

My first implant on my right ear, I heard very clearly than hearing aids and I was very happy about it.

so, far, so good, Iam doing great on my implant, I love it.

I can not wait to activation my left ear. It getting very excited

Good luck. I am bilateral and love it. I hope you have happy results.

I myself was having CI in left ear since Aug 2001.. and Finally I decide to have right ear implanted as well.. So Jan 4th was my surgery date so My hook up will be on Feb 11th.. Same as your close date with mine :) cool Welcome to Bilateral club I guess we need one here heehee

Hi Everyone...

Since my second hook-up.. on Feb 5th, I have all 22 channels. both of my ci is on, and I can hear more than my wife, Michelle Gaffney. the first time, I heard I talk myself to my wife, very clear. It great! I love it..

the next day, when I took my dog, shih tzu, to go to bathroom, I heard she pee.. I mean.. like.. oh my.. that my first time, I ever heard.. It great tech.. wonderful...

Iam doing fine.. and I can hear people talking very clear.. yay..

Oh my cats poop and dog peeing. LOL

I am very happy for you. It really wakes you up. What is your favorite part of it? For me it is the conversation with my hubby. Love being about to do that.

Keep us updated and of course and stay away from dog peeing. :)

Hi Richard,
I was wondering would you please tell me about how long you went without using the ear that you just got the second implant. On that second ear did you wear a hearing aide before.

Vallee could you also answer that questions. I know you wore hearing aids but did you ever not and how long if you didn't was that period.

Progressive loss at age 3. started wearing ha at age 10 until 38. I wore a ha on my right ear but did not have much use out of it for the last about 7 years. More details on my blog.
