I never hear about circus with animal should be ban. I read in other threads. Few of ADers member wanted the circus with animal be ban. I was puzzling what is going on. I thought I would like to make a thread with polls.

I want to know what is going on. Please respect on everyone's POV. Thank you!

Please don't start with bashing on POV. I just consider about Circus with animal should be ban. Because of inhuman?

I'm really don't care about circus, not interested in.

There's other problem about circus animals were treated by brutal training and put animals into big pain during training.

Circuses aren't very popular anymore, unlike in 60's and 70's.

I voted no. I don't care much about circus but if there are safeguards to make sure animals are trained humanely, it should not be a problem.

No, i dont like circus anymore since they unwittlingly
abuse those poor animals..
I saw documentary on TV once about those poor
elephants who were abused and they were trying to
escape cuz they were tired of being abused..it was
heartbreaking.

I understand how do you feeling. You don't care about Circus. But I really like Pet Stars more than circus you know. I don't support cruel on animal either.

You can tell what kind of animal should be ban. For example: tiger, seal, elephant, horse and more. I really hate to see the trainer use a whip stick on animal!

Pinky,

Are you talking about the TV program "Pet Stars" on Animal Planet? If so, I like that show too!

To get back on topic, I don't think the use of circus animals should be banned unless the training involves some form of animal abuse.

And I don't like the use of whips on animals either. :(

I haven't took my children to the circus in a long time after witnessed an elephant's leg being heavy chained and I watched an undercover video footage on TV about animals abuse in circuses --beaten by whipped, electric rod and other objects. Circuses are sending the wrong message out by teaching children that it is OK to abuse and torturing animals.

Yes! Everyone don't care about circus with animal. I like Pet's Star than circus because of abuse.

I used to enjoy the circus, but not anymore due to the animal abuse and the tradition is getting lame. I like pet stars better because they train them without abusing them.

Opps, I forgot to add that I voted "neutral" because I do not believe that they should ban circuses, people can choose to go or not.

Yes and no. I never really like circus but my mother's good friend and her husband used to be in circus with snakes. I dont mind snakes but elephants no. Remember Walt Disney's Dumbo, I got upset when I saw this movie especailly when they hurt mother elephant and they separate baby from mother.

The circuses involved with animals should be banned.

1) It is well-documented that the animals are abused behind the scenes.

2) The animals do not perform those tricks like they do in wild. They are forced to do them and I think it is so wrong.

We should ban animal shelters, kennels, the police department, pet stores, etc... they all do the same thing.

Oh, wait... not all of them do the same thing.

This also applies to the circus. Not everyone in the circus abuse animals. Some do. Some don't.

If you want to ban animals from circuses, then you should do the same for everyone else.

I strongly believe that the majority of traveling circuses are pretty nasty when it comes to animal abuse. I've witnessed it more than enough times to know.

Not just some... most. They get away with it because they travel all over so there is no time for the local governments to act on it. Besides, animals shouldn't be used to entertain people.

Don't mind snakes, eh? Snakes have feelings like any animal do. We got a few pet snakes at my roommate's house. Snakes need love like any animal do.

That's right. One day I saw an episode of "Animal Precinct" in which the owner of a snake allowed its eyelids to grow over the eyes rendering it completely blind. Needless to say, the story saddened me. IMO, all animals deserve respect and shouldn't be subjected to cruelty.

my vote says no!

i dont think circus should BAN! because circus would fun than nothing because kids love see animals very much.

i do love circus when i was little girls in my lifes they wont forget that memory!

I voted yes, they should be banned as I think it is wrong to force wild animals to do tricks in circuses. They lead really awful lives. Also their is a lot of cruel forms of punishment so it definately should be banned.

I voted Neutral.

Like what I said at Bullfighting thread that banned doesn´t solve anything but simple is not go in and watch them.

It´s not ALL but there´re control from animal cruelty protection to make sure what/how the animals or pets are treat well.

We have circus in area where we live but we were surprised to learn from my boys at 2 years ago that there´re no animals in circus anymore. We didn´t went there since we thought it´s cruel to see the animals are being force to "dance" for us...

I took my boys to there twice when they were toddlers because they want to see it. It´s not bad which is total different I withnessed at 60s and 70s...
