Ci

that's great, sosie. make sure you go to a ci center because most "regular" audis don't fully understand the citeria for ci candidacy. the audi who fitted me with my first pair of hearing aids in 1985 told me that with a 90+ dB loss, I *could* be accepted as a ci candidate, but she didn't know for sure. as it turned out, i failed all of my hearing tests with flying colors.

OK, I will but I am sure the Audie will probably send me to a CI center after discussing and testings, etc.

you're welcome. :)

what is your current degree of hearing loss?

I have no idea but I will ask the Audie about this after my tests again. I am due to see her again next month.
Hear Again, I don't understand about the 22. 24 and 26 channels. Is because of the limits of the sounds? I know that I am so stupid to ask you this.

no, that isn't a stupid question at all. i didn't understand the idea of channels either when i received my first ci.

the number of channels in a ci (usually 16 or 22) represent how sound is processed through the implant.

having said that, more channels do not necessarily equal better speech understanding. research has proven that only 3 channels are necessary for a ci user to understand speech.
