CI Turn on Day for Me..

Wicked! Congrats!

WTG on your Activation :)

They told me to stay on p1 since they hav emore updates there already.. and they said I can expiernece with P2 or p3 if i wanted.. I did with P2 for a while and wanted more.. so I am on P# and the volume is 6. Any advices and suggestions would be welcomed here! I started a journal on sounds so my audiologist can know. :eek3:

Congrats, sounds like you are off to a great start, I have had my CI activated for just over a year now and it has been nothing short of AMAZING!

As far as tips, a journal is a great idea and can be a huge help when mapping, I also used to carry around a small tape recorder (little pocket type) and if I found a sound or voice that was hard to understand I would record it, then play the tape back for my Audie so she could work on praticular sounds when mapping me. The other things I did was audio books, and followed along with the full text book - great practice (just make sure you use the Unabridged audio book) and I also used Microsoft Reader with the Text to Speech add in, that way I could have my computer read an eBook and watch as the program highlighted each word as it was read, the voices are a bit mechanical and some pronouncation is a bit weird but for the most part it is good practice.

Best of luck I think you are doing great for just 2 days :)

Regards,
Mike "Ears Hopin" P
