switch on ..... still waiting

Well eggyman having been bumped up 2 weeks is a pleasant surprise. The usual time to wait for healing is about 4 weeks. That is my experience.

The big moment when the externals are hooked up.
The only advice: be very patient with yourself as it takes " time" for your brain to "get used to the new sound".Also, very important for you to feed back to your audi exactly what you are "hearing"-to adjust the "mapping"
.Much success from here on out-hearing wise!

Cheers

Hi eggyman. How is your recovery going? I hope your feeling better and looking forward to your activation. Enjoy the ride!!!!!

Patience!

Eggyman (and others reading...)
The best advice I would give is to be patient. The first 6 months absolutely drug on for me. Every little step forward seemed to take so long, but now that I'm approaching my 4 year surgery anniversary it doesn't seem so long! I'm post lingually deaf so my progress was much better than someone who was born deaf, in fact I scored 100% on my 6 month HINT test! :D

I want to ask something - When u go for the switch on or activation do u feel something from the electrode ? like electric simulation ? .
I don't know what to expected to hear from the CI compared HA i have wore.
Thank steven

i don't think I felt anything from the electrode, but I did feel a lot of sensations in the head from the sounds, like as if my brain was being shocked and rattled because of the sounds, whew. That went away after a few days and I started to slowly hear some sounds.
