CI question

Now you know enough about advanced bionics. They runs on 12-24 hours battery, have t-coil option.
I habe different brand its called cochlear freedom processor and freedom contour advance implant.
They feel a lot lighter in weight compare to hearing aid you barely feel it I tend to forgot I'm even wearing my CI.
but yes they are big in size, I have tiny ear its little over 2 inches too but I don't have problem with it falling off at all. Only time it fell off to ground is when my fiance Jason picked me up and flip me over to put on his shoulder just to play around and it fell off LOL it takes a lot for it to fall off. I'm using child size earhook so it stay on very good. Its longer hook than regular hook. And I wear regular size bte in pink most of time I have mini one in pink too but I like regular one better because you can listen to music in ipod, listen to tv, computer, etc and it help a lot better in rehabiliation when you listen to book on cd with cd player and matching book so you can learn to listen speech better. I had mini bte and it was hard and not comfortable to wear headphone to try listen to music and book on cd.
But if you get CI you will get 2, yes I said TWO CI processor one will be back up if other 1 is broken or lost. So you can get one in regular size and one in mini so you can compare!
And my battery for regular hearing aid battery specialize for CI it lasts 5 days for me and rechargeable lasted 3 days for me.
If you have more question, PM me

I have just been implante with MedEl a few weeks ago.. I was told no boxing no diving more than 100 feet.. That was about it .. Any contact sport that involves the head so be done with care and a helmet .. Thats just plain ole common sense.. The titanuim is a separate case to the slilicone with the magnent.. I chosed ceramic casing for my implant. It is tried and true and no problems over the years...It is very water resistent... We can bathe and shower and all of those wonderful water activities.. The processor part (hearing aid) is even more water resistent than my ole digi hearing aids.. I don't bathe nor shower nor swim with the processor on though..

DeafSkeptic .. get in touch and we can compare notes .. I look forwar to the Opus 2 model an that nifty remote control coming out soon...

I didnt chose Cochlear America ( freedom ) because it was too bulky and too heavy and behind in technology with programming .. I didn't chose Avanced Bionics because of the 2.2 million dollar fine from the FDA that skeered my wifey. The fine is in regard to the implante part not being manufactored to FDA specifications... So the MedEl was the third one left to choose in the USofA.. The Opus 2 model just approved by the FDA have a nifty remote control and cool programs... Some CI clinics give out 2 processors , some give out only one processor. It depends on the CI clinic.. I also waited for rechargable batteries for the CI technology since it use a LOT of batteries. Somewhere around 6 plus batteries a week.. And that adds up fast within a year. As I have told people for years .. research research and ask questions and research and Buyers Beware ... Desperate people do desperate things .. so don't be desperate..

SkullChick, That's interesting. There is many different kind of CI. I am not sure what kind of CI I get it. I have to wait until We get marry. I am happy for you to hear with CI. Keep it up! I like the Pink bte too. Pink is my favorite color! I think my cousin has bionic. But I am not sure that exactly. I will ask his mom. I didn't know that mini bte isn't comfort for you. Do you have CI with 2 recharger batteries? If 1 battery goes die and have to put recharger the battery. I don't want to miss wear CI during batteries is on recharger. What do you think?

We keep four batteries charged in rotation so we always have a backup. I think 2 batteries come with each processor when you first get it, and additional batteries can be purchased separately.

That's great! It unlike a hearing aid batteries. How about 2 CI's batteries??
