I don't thing how deaf someone is or what kind of assistive device (ci or ha) should be a factor on becoming a president of a school or student body. I was so surprised at the whole uproar with gally back, what was it, 2006? 2007? I thought it was completely unnecessary.
As much as I loved going to RIT, I was frustrated with some of the Deaf (big D) students saying I wasn't "deaf enough" to socialise with them. Seriously? It was worse the the stereotypical high school clique bullshit.
I say congrats to the new president of NTID. If he does right with the student body and school, who cares if he wears an implant or not?
