From my situation, I do not support Deaf babies and children.... Yes, I do respect adult's decision. It does not bother me when I have seen many Deaf audlts's decision. :)

actually, it was closed temporarily undergoing changes.. now it is open and raychelle announced that most of her CI V/Blogs has been moved to CI-ASL blog site... check it out.
 
SkullChick, good on you for saying what you feel. Maybe you'll change some people's views on implants. I gotta say that the Deaf community does seem to be a bit more CI friendly. It'll be a few years before they're universally accepted. But you know what? Back when Has were introduced a lot of Deafies were against them! Back when aids were introduced, I prolly would have experianced a lot of the same stuff you did. (b/c I wear hearing aids) Just keep speaking out.........
 
I agree with CI lady. That's good ONE! I want to show my husband about youtube. I have my own account youtube. I want to get a CI. I can do ASL and SEE both. I was raise to mainstream school with hearing impaired and use SEE sign language. I transfered to Deaf School. I learned a lot about ASL. ALL CI are still deaf.

My cousin has 2 CI and don't sign language. His mom won't allow him to learn sign language. I felt bad and heartbroken. I can't change them. I can't stand with his mom's attitude and very narrow-minded.

If I am taking a CI. I will always use ASL and speech both. I can't do oral by myself. It's hard for me. I like use asl and speech in same time. You know I mean?

I have a question about Heather Whitestone didn't want to be in deaf community. She criticized on deaf community. But why she is taking a second CI and never social with deaf people before. I want to know about her. She do rather be in hearing community than deaf community?? She is still Deaf!

That's good one! I like that point! It's bother me when deaf people do against CI and not want to friend with them for no reason. That's wrong to judge! They need to respect people's choice want CI to hear. I am getting a CI soon. I don't know when yet. I have to discuss with my new husband about plan. He will have 2 insurance to cover for CI. I looked at your blogger about CI. I like the PINK BTE! I want to get a pink BTE for my future CI. I need to know about the design what I wish to pick one to match. :cool:

So, since Feb08, how much can you hear now with the CI compared to when you wore a hearing aid ? What is your speech recognition scores ? Just curious
