I used to live in suburb of Chicago, around 30 miles away from downtown Chicago, for two years. I didn't have problem with Chicago, except for a lot of aggressive drivers, they are more northern attitude and very cold/snowy in winter.

Oh, so you used to live in Chicago. Well American history is full of famous criminals from Chicago too. Then there is the mob. When I'm right, you are so kind to call me stereotypically right.

Not all people in Chicago are criminal and you are just too ill-informed.

Houston has a lot of crimes too.
 
I had my purse snatched on a street in North Chicago.
 
I had potato pancakes at a Kosher deli in Chicago. Stopped through there about 5 times. I never wanted to stay too long.


The pancakes were good. But, not as good as a Chik Fil A shake.


Kind of makes me wonder though ... if the owner of that deli made his views on same sex marriage known, would Chicago take his rights to own and operate his business away from him, as well as try to silence his rights to free speech?

or, is it just the Christians these crooks are after?

You can debate particulars and semantics until we all rot, but the issue is that CFA gave money to groups that have a decidedly anti-gay leaning. Of course, it's usually dressed up in pro-family, Christian values, or religious beliefs. They got called out and are now back pedaling to avoid a drop in revenue. Personally, I don't support businesses that put bigots in high places - its an indication of their values. Those values always seem to be about reading literally only certain parts of the bible ( not gods word, but mans interpretation of it) and ignoring those parts that dont support their position. What are they so afraid of...what is it about gays that is objectionable? How does gay marriage erode marriage? Is it really just a need to hate? Is it just a ploy?

Sorry to go off topic....i just cannot fathom why people even care what others do in their personal lives.

The difference is that Houston admits its faults, is shame of its faults and tries hard to get straight. Chicago is just same old same old and will never change. I guess you were not there long enough to get corrupted. Glad you got out in time.

I'm no southern hospitality, nor is redneck, unlike you did in the south.

Ah...rape and murder on not generally consensual acts. Personal life was a nice way of saying why do people care who sleeps with who...as long as it is adult and consensual. I hope that's more clear. If you are comparing rape and murder to being gay, then you forgot Pedro, sex with animals and necro....smile.
 
I lived outside Chicago for one year. I don't miss it.

No, I didn't like the climate there.

After I spent my one year minimum tour there, I requested no-cost orders for a transfer out. No-cost means no cost to the Navy. I had to pay for my own move to Pensacola, FL. Much better climate there. :)
