Thank God that I don't live in Chicago.
Potholes are pretty much predictable, potholes will pop up after period of frigid weather condition. The more frigid the weather gets beating, the more potholes will show up afterwards. That is because ice ALWAYS wins, water steep into under the pavement, and when it freezes it (Ice) EXPAND upward pushing the pavement upward and weaken its strength, and when thaw hits, there is nothing to hold that spot, and a car hits it, shattered BAM! new pothole!
I was supposed to go up in Maine couple weeks ago, but decided not to because I KNOW "Frost haven" exists in Maine, and this is spring time so because I have very weak neck spine and I am not going to tolerate any potholes up there so let my family go up there leaving me here alone with dogs. That decision actually paid off, my wife told me potholes up there is so bad. I wanted my neck issues to be gone forever so I can get my life back.
Yeah, I did talk with my doctor to get myself back in shape, my doctor said NO! Not ready! Wait til I said go ahead, ok? I said alrighty. My doctor KNEW I wanted my life, and job back badly and said that my risk is moderate to high if I don't take care of myself. Oh well.
Anyway, here in Rochester, the pothole issues is somewhat moderate, little worse than moderate actually. Friend of mine did stopped by cop for not staying in lane and was asked by cop if he was drinking, my friend told cop, "I am following the pothole, I don't want to hit every damn potholes that are lined up (Yes, potholes was lined up on some roads here!). Drunk driver won't follow the potholes so cop let him go.
