Chicago Man Kills Brother Over $2 Debt

It's probably not just the $2, perhaps past domestic issues built up as well made its way into the argument.

Congrats on 1000.

Since it involved cocaine it is certain they were not thinking clearly.

Why didn't the guy call me on the phone or call jillio? Either one of us would have given him the $2. Doesn't this guy have a job or something? Maybe some children to be a "daddy" to?

Once over twenty years ago I recalled a south Chicago boy around 8 years old gunned an adult man down for refusing a nickel ($.05) he asked for and ended up killing him.

$2 or a nickel ain't worth anything at all to kill for. So absurdly Sad!

$2 for cocaine? I thought cocaine cost a lot more?

Nevertheless....$2 is a very petty amount. If someone owed me $2 and refused to pay me back, I would just have simply ended the friendship and dropped it at that. Very simple to do than killing somebody. $2 is not worth it to go to prison for. Ending the relationship and severing your ties to the brother would be so much easier than going to prison for the rest of your rest and possibly ending up on death row. I have some people that still owe me money, but I don't go after them for it. I just forget about it and I just don't bother to talk to them anymore. I also don't lend money to anyone anymore. That's simple. *smh*

My dad and his wife owes me a LOT of money because they took ALL my birthday money, my Christmas gift money, my Easter money, my Communion money, and any other money that were given to me as gifts from relatives and other people, saying that they would keep it in an envelope and that I would get it when I became 18 years old. I was never allowed to have even one cent at all. All of this was before I went into foster care at 13 years old. I am 28 now and I still have not seen a damn red cent of that money. But did I go after them and kill them for that money? No. I just simply severed my ties to my dad and his wife, and I no longer talk to them. I don't have anything to do with them anymore, and I refuse to visit them. They did the same thing to my sister, and she never got the money back, not even one red cent, either, but she did not go after them and kill them, either. She is 23 years old now, and she never went into foster care, so our parents owes her a hell of a lot more money than they owe me! We both are not that crazy, and we both know better. We both just simply severed our ties to our dad and his wife, and we don't talk to them anymore, and we refuse to visit them anymore. We don't even knowledge them anymore. We have NOTHING to do with them. That's so much simpler than seeking revenge or killing them for the money. We are not murderers, we know better, and we do not want to kill them or any one else for that matter.

Who says it was $2?

What if it was $200, $2,000, or $20,000?

Anyone can lie. ;)

Interesting... My late mother did very much the same thing to me with money I got from my Grandma & relatives. But my dad, years later, did try to put things right again. And it's one of those things that as a young kid, hurt like you wouldn't believe - I mean No kid ever wants to know their parent is being dishonest to them like that!

I also didn't respond by killing anybody, natch. But, I am way guarded in my relationships in much the same fashion as you for exactly the same reasons!

As for killing someone over $2, that's just one of those things I don't get - It must be the difference in my morals I guess.

anyone ever seen the movie "Better Off Dead"?? where the newspaper boy chases the guy around everywhere over 2 dollars screaming I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!

$2?

I'll say to them, keep it. $2 is just something small for me, whatever.
