My mother and I attempted to go to the new Cheesecake Factory that recently opened here in Boise, the week before Christmas. They told us it would be a 5-10 minute wait. 20 minutes later I went to see what the hold up was. They told me it would be another 15 minutes. Another 20 minutes later, I asked to speak with a manager. He apologized for the wait and assured me it would only be another 10 minutes, tops. 15 mintues after that my mother, who is diabetic, asked to speak with yet another manager and told him to take our name off the list, that we were leaving. A few days later, I contacted the manager and explained the situation. I told him I would rather they were honest with us regarding the wait time, in the beginning. If they had told us it would be an hour wait, we would have just gone somewhere else, and not bothered with the hassle and a potential glycemic problem for my mother. The manager was extremely apologectic and sent me a gift card, promising they would do better next time.
Today, my husband I decided to give it another shot. When we arrived, we were told it would be a 25-40 minute wait. It was 45 minutes, but not as bad as before. They sat us in a very tiny/tight seating area for 2. The waitress was nice, but never refilled our drinks. When our food arrived a half-hour later, it was cold, but delicious and extremely abundant portions. After lunch, we split a chocolate tower truffle cake and had at least half left over. It was amazingly good food, but not sure it was worth the wait. I hope that it will slow down once it has been here for a while. I think part of the problem is that it is located at the mall here.
