Multiple accounts: Not allowed, end of story. Won't change anytime soon. If you want to change your name, PM Alex.
Trolling: The old definition of trolling meant of any kind of unwanted replies. Today, the term 'trolling' has different levels of variation on internet and requires judgement calls compared to years ago. Any moderator will hold the right to make a decision based on their perspective after responding to a trolling report. There are many actions that can be considered trolling, but not all of them face the same consequences.
If a member feels that a serious trolling case has not been reviewed, it is urged for them to contact us directly thru PM.
Member & Group callouts: If you want to argue with a member being racist, audist, pedophile, criminal, etc, this section applies for moderator actions. Present creditable posts to the moderators or Alex explaining the evidence for the claim, which will then be reviewed. With the
Post Reporting feature, staff may disregard cases after determining them unfounded. It's important to provide details so we can investigate thoroughly and make a decision. Members that display obvious traces of criminal behavior, racism, hostility, may be immediately banned without warning.
Family shared accounts: The staff understand that some members share home internet. Family accounts are tricky and we will give a degree of leniency for separate family members. However, if one family member is causing problems, there is no way to fully verify the person behind the keyboard. Moderators will investigate troubling cases and make a decision based on the results of an inspection. Anytime if a family member feels they have been incorrectly penalized, please contact us by PM, or have a friend contact us, and Alex directly in PM. If none of these options are available, you can email
webmaster@alldeaf.com instead.
Proxy & Mobile IP: If there is a suspected user on a proxy IP, the staff will take action against them without question. There is no reason to be browsing AD on a proxy unless you have a problem browsing the forums during work, school, or other locations. If your network administrator blocked AllDeaf.com you probably shouldn't be reading it. Browsing on proxy IP's also tie your account with other banned users, as they are shared IP's.
Mobile IP's will be treated as individual, but if a duplicate is found related to another account, you may be placed under suspicion unless cleared.
Returning Banned ex-Members: If ex-ADer's who quit or were permanently/temporarily banned from the site, and wish to appeal their ban status, please either:
A) Have a friend Private Message a moderator or Alex with a reason
B) Email Alex directly with your reason:
webmaster@alldeaf.com
And their ban status may be reviewed. No immediate decision may be made unless it was found the member was incorrectly banned.
Some decisions may consult multiple moderator opinions. Not all moderators are on at all times. We try to work when available.
