Car and driver insurance requirements

In here if you get registered and dropping insurance without surrender the license plate. DMV will wait 3 months then send you bill 15 dollars a day without insurance.
Neighbor states are much worse than here. In PA, if doing so and let insurance lapse just for a day, will get ticket PLUS allowing Insurance companies jack up three times of premium for next three years
In MD, I think they are the worst of all with penalty.

It's up to each state.

If they don't want to drive, they don't need to get insurance. Even when they do get insurance, only liability insurance is required. That's to protect other people and property. If they don't want to protect their own lives and property, that's up to them. No one is forced to insure themselves.

If there is personal injury involved in an accident, the liability pays for the medical costs. One would think that private insurance companies would WANT universal health insurance. Weird.

Auto liability insurance pays beyond basic medical bills. They would probably still need both. Auto liability insurance includes pain and suffering, and lost wages. Those wouldn't be covered by universal health insurance. Also, liability includes property damage, not just bodily injury. Also, health insurance wouldn't cover death expenses. I'm not sure about loss of use. Will universal health insurance cover follow-up expenses from paralysis, TBI, loss of limbs, etc.? Such as occupational therapy, house modifications, special equipment, etc? :dunno:

No, if you got in car accident and use health insurance, they will investigate and if they found out you using their health coverage for accident, they have right ask you to pay back.
