I think he should be able to get CC on streamed movies on netflix, he ought to be entitled to them just the same as hearing people are. You're telling him to just get a DVD, I don't think it's fair for him to have to send away to rent DVDs when he could just watch the movies right away on his PC if they were captioned. If he has to have his netflix DVDs sent to his home because of the captioning issues he is not being treated equal as hearing people who get to watch the streamed movies on their computers right away because they can hear and understand the movies. He and the rest of us Deaf people should be treated as equal as hearing people by having captions provided to us on streamed movies. You seem to be OK with the fact that the Deaf people are being denied the right to watch STREAMED MOVIES with CAPTIONS and that we should just make do with DVDs being sent to our homes or just have to watch the streamed movies with NO CAPTIONS. If hearing people get to watch and understand STREAMED MOVIES then we as Deaf people should have the same rights to the STREAMED movies by being provided captions on them so we can watch and understand the movies, regardless of the fact that they are available on DVDs. We should be able to watch streamed movies on our PCs with captions instead of having to have DVDs sent to our homes which would take a couple of days to get, because we would have equal rights as the hearing people if we can watch streamed movies with captions. Come on! I, too, would like to watch streamed netflix movies online immediately instead of having to wait for a couple of days for the movies to arrive at my home.
This isn't stupid. This is an important issue for us Deaf people. It IS important to ME, at least, as well as the OP.
