I'm flat out not happy about lack of Deaf Events that I was unable to go with my girlfriend. I'm flat out not happy that at the age of 35 I realize that I don't want to go through growth pain of teaching ASL. I hate that I won't have my girlfriend for Nov. 3 deaf event at Harper. I can go to as many U of Michigan football games as I want to go to, but I won't be happy missing out on deaf events.

My girlfriend and I talk about getting married and having kids. I really don't care any more. If I get married, I would have to go to hearing Church every Sunday. I flat out don't care about Church camaraderies. Bikes, being self employed, and old cars are what I live for. I feel like being a rebel and going on road trips.

Ok, let me know what you would give me for this nice bike.

Just because you're married doesn't mean you have to go to a hearing church, or even a deaf church for that matter.

i fele that too...its a joyless existence, but heh sometimes once in a while in bluemoon a silvinh lining shines but its just a flash/....shortlived...then all over again that long wait for the best convos...

It is mostly about access. It is amazingly easy to run around in guy world and rarely have much of any conversation with women. Isolation is the worst thing there is for a man. We can get eccentric as the day is long. Anyway it takes some odds in a guys favor. Those short adult evening classes at the local community college- you can teach beginning ASL or bicycle repair or something and make a few bucks and meet some new people and only have to teach one evening a week or a few evenings in a row however.
As a guy allergic to cats I can vouch for the fact that there are millions of single women out there with cats. They love cats while you will be below the cat or cats in the order of things you will be tolerated well. Women who love cats will see conversation opportunity if you have some kind of cat action going on. It does not take the whole cat being there either. Just something to spark conversation. They are more likely to talk cat than talk car or bike.
