Canada Banned immgriation

It isn't going be happen in anytime.

Interesting. I've heard very few Canadians are frustrated with Muslims causing all kinds of problems going on in Canada quite a while ago. What do Canadians say about this?

For a second, I thought it was a Canadian MP who proposed it. It's actually a Dutch political leader who said it while he was in Canada.

That article was poorly written and very hard to understand. I don't think Canada would consider doing something like this because it is considered discrimination?

Right, they wouldn't.

My ex from Hamilton, Ontario fed up with them and there are too many of them. He also said that some of them don't speak English or French. He had always been ranting it was hurting his bookstore business. He always used to drive across the border without being asking for a passport. After 9/11, that changed everything. He thinks they caused nothing but problems. I heard from his other friend that his bookstore closed down. :dunno2:

I think he made a mistake opening his bookstore in Hamilton. It is ghetto and full of factories.

Hamilton has been a dump for as long as I can remember. Long before the Muslims moved there. Well, it was really the American border that made it more difficult for the Canadians to travel. Yes, we used to be able to drive into the USA without a passport til a couple years ago. Before that, we were told to show our driver's licenses, but they didn't ask for it every time. This continued on for years after 9/11.

Don't forget, big bookstores like Chapters, Indigo, Coles which all have the same parent company make it very difficult for small bookstore owners to compete with them. So you can't really blame the Muslims.

There are a lot more white people than Muslims but I don't hear anyone saying there's too many of them.

One of my closest friends is a Muslim who is now an immigration counsellor to help Muslims immigrate to Canada, I grew up in and travelled to Muslim countries (North Africa, Mid-East) so I know the Muslim culture very very well. Our annual xmas dinner is couscous. We also have many many Muslim friends of the family. They are some of the hardest working kindest people I have ever met.

Yes, some Muslims are problematic but so are some whites, blacks, Chinese, christians, so on and so forth. There are always some bad apples in every group.

I remember reading an article in the New York Times in which a group of black New Yorkers said that after 9/11, racism shifted from them to the Muslims. They said and I quote: "Muslims are the new Blacks."

The professor I met here is also from Hamilton wont miss his city, and is happy to not live in Hamilton anymore. He said the same thing you said.

My ex said that it was a good idea to open the bookstore in Hamilton, and I was thinking,"what." I told him it was not a good idea to open it in the ghetto area. He refused to take my advice and thought opening the bookstore will drive them away. Seriously. After 9/11, he had his drivers license revoked, because he could not pay it anymore. He often had to get the ride from one of his friends to go across the border. I bet he can't afford to pay for passport fee now. Heard it is very pricey...??

That's a pity. He obviously made some bad decisions. I live around 40 minutes away from Hamilton if I take the QEW (highway). It smells too as well, it has a strong sulfuric scent. If you aren't sure what it would smell like, the best way to describe it is to say rotten eggs.

Oh yeah, one more thing... regarding some people complaining about how some refuse to speak English. I can assure you that it's not just some Muslims, it's the same with a lot of other minorities like people who are fluent in Italian, Polish, French, Arabian, Japanese, Chinese, etc.

True that but at least their children are bilingual. I know many Canadian, British, Australian and American ex-pats that never learned the language of their adopted country - at least not fluently.

That's right, there are a lot of second and third generation Italians in this region and they speak both languages fluently. However, a lot of their parents can barely speak English at all, but they can speak Italian fluently.

I do agree with what you said.

I am definitely familiar with sulfur smell. Can't stand it. That is bummer you have to smell it if you take the QEW.

Yes, you can always smell it whenever you pass by the city.
