Ohhhh, that's TV related issue not NTVP itself.
VP-200 will always show black screen on sides with TV that's wide screen rather than standard square screen. NTVP has the option whether you can use wide screen or standard (IF my memory serves me right). On your TV menu, you can change aspect screen size (That is technical term to change the TV format, like standard, wide, stretch, etc).
I encourage you guys if having technical issue with VP call my former great team members, they are there to help you their VP number is 801-287-9403. They are the ones that have the latest information on technical related issues that any one of you might have.
Case like this is perfect example why people assume that VP itself is defective to begin with, and forgot that there is problems that has nothing to do with VP itself. I have seen enough for too long. And yes, I have seen those who complaining that VP has caused problem, they changed their VRS providers only to experience same problems and came back to us, usually we ended up found out bad Ethernet cable, ISP side issues that VRS companies do not have any control over, etc. I even had case where customer actually replaced VP several times and finally found the core problem was ISP after all and was able to resolved with ISP side. Other examples where customer plugged the AV cables in wrong port on back of TV (No color, just black and white) and thinks VP is no good. Nope, wrong! That person plugged in wrong AV connector, should have yellow end plugged in either Yellow ring around it OR Green/yellow. Sometimes just green one will do the trick, again nothing to do with VP but TV mis-connected.
Good news, there WILL be better days ahead for VP quality, I don't know when, but soon.
