Can i sue a doctor? I don't understand why some doctor can't afford to pay an inter..

i don't understand some doctor refuse to get an interpreter for me...

i HATE some doctor and it made me pissed off. because of NO interpreter...

i went to planned parenthood on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. and they didn't get an interpreter and i was pretty pissed off and tried explain to them and they said they will get an interpreter for rescaulsed. i told them don't forget about get an interpreter. they said they will get it for me. next week later, they called me and they can't afford to pay an interpreter for $50/hrs and then get my own interpreter. when i almost pissed off and lost my temple.


i wonder if they can't do that and plus pph some doctor still refuse to get an interpreter then it would be pass on june 11...

i guess maybe i will get a lawyer for sue a doctor. ( i did went to planned parenthood once when i took my test for STD and another reasons)

i know i can't stand to take all my shit. i wish i have had never born deaf. can i sue a doctor? if you guys knew about expiance life and i guess this is really my frist time.

You could contact deaf advocacy agency to get a lawyer. You can discuss with a lawyer about your doctor about not getting interpreter for you. This is pretty lame that doctor cannot afford for an interpreter. Since doctors getting all the money since they getting their own fancy cars and vacation homes in the Bahamas, but they cannot afford an interpreter??? This is no excuse coming from a doctor! :mad:

Along the terms of a doctor, why not go to your own family doctor? He or she can answer your questions better than pp can.

Now, on another note . . . everything that I'm seeing and hearing about other deaf people, many of them, including you, are angry and ready to sue on a whim. Why is that? Do you have that much money that you can do that? I've always wondered about that. Seriously. If you want to do that to the doctor, that's your perogative, but generally speaking, you can attract more bees with honey than you can with vinegar.
 
What about contact your Health Insurance in your state to see if they cover full cost for interpreter? In my home state in Ca, I have health Insurances inclued do cover full cost intrepreter with no charger me.. When I need a intrepreter I have to make a call by insurance first to give a notice what i need before make appointment with doctor.. they help make that happen.

Doctors earn a lot of money, so therefore, doctors can afford interpreters. See the example of NJ lawsuit...

Do you have proof where they deny to provide you an interpreter such as copy of communicate from VRS/TRS or something?
 
It ain't new that those doctors/hospitals get by most of the times... and that we acknowledge that ADA laws are so ineffective unless you have the proof(s) and take the action to sue which we many don't want to take lot of crap time on. Would you do it? Probably not.

Doctors should be unselfish and non-greedy but many are not. Sigh!

Pray that Obama will do something as he promised.
 
This was for "planned parenthood".....meaning?...just a class?...or what?

Intrepretors are in demand!...We need many more....One was scheduled for me when I had to go to court, and never showed!...Since I could "read lips" the judge let me "slide by"!...I have no intention to sue! I was just happy to get out of there.

Also, at the adoption proceedings for my boys, the intrepretor was over an hour late....yes, I was angry! But the circumstances were beyond anyone's control.

Few weeks back, I went to see my family doctor, (female problem) and a male intrepretor showed up!...So I had to reschedule....For a woman only!

Had an appt. to see an eye doctor...and when I called to confirm, the receptionist asked the relay operator...."Can she read Lips? Can she read and write"?? ....When I replied "Yes"...the receptionist said, "Well, good, because we do not have intrepretors, and will not allow them......her last statement was...."You would not belive the deaf people we get in here!"...."But don't tell her that!".....BUT, the relay operator did tell me!....

And I did not go see that doctor!...I made a complaint about it and was told they were "aware" of it (that particular doctor)....and still waiting to see what is going to be done towards that doctor's attitude regarding intrepretors! And deaf people.

Good for the relay operator!! That's the way she should have done it. When I talk to my son on relay, they even type that my birds are chirpping in the background!:P

Two males.:lol: They are just very social and play constantly. Plus, if they hear me talking, they tend to get louder, like they are trying to get in on the conversation.
 
Jillio, the relay ops I use are really good too. They often type in the tone the speaker is using as well as some background chatter. Don't you just love it when a good relay service does that??

Yes, I do! The ops we use are excellent at voicing tone, as well, from my son's typed message. And they are extremely polite, never failing to thank me at the end of the call.
