can hacker control anyone else's computer?

Oh man, I didn't read this reply until today. Sorry about that.

So you have the Pro version installed? If yes, then it works but I don't know if it's 100% successful. Just make sure to keep the software updated.

To play it safe, always clean your browsing history, cookies, caches, etc after closing your browser by running an app such as CCleaner which is free with no support. On my PC, it runs automatically at the start-up.

This means history, cache, cookies are erased which means loading pages can be slower since it has to start from new? Also it doesn't save passwords or IDs. I understand it secures your PC but then you'd have to enter all the usernames and passwords every time you use the PC.

My laptop used to have Microsoft Security Essentials, until it was announced that it would stop working in April, so I searched for a replacement, and came up with Bitdefender, and it seems to be a pretty good program, and it's done the job so far.

As for my cell phone and tablet-- both have AVG and Lookout Anti-virus, and it's because I want to be able to catch whoever is trying to gain access to my phone or tablet to be photographed, and I'll know who it was.

Wow I had no idea MSE was ending in April 2014. Thanks for mentioning that. I use it. Is Bitdefender free? Any other programs out there?

Oh wait, is MSE stopping only for Windows XP? I have Windows 7.

There are two versions-- one is free, one is paid. I would recommend the free version.

And I don't think it's just Windows XP, either-- I think it's the entire Windows 7 platform that's ending, because they're moving onto Windows 8/8.1 and beyond.

There is only one version of MSE. Free as long as you have genuine Windows.

Just Windows XP.

No, it still loads a new page fast as long as you have a high speed internet. You have options to save passwords if you want. If you don't want, you can change the settings in tools to disable it. What browser are you frequently using?

Ok no problem. Wasn't sure. That was what I heard. I have high speed so it's not a problem. I'm using Chrome.
