Can anyone help?

Hi Everyone

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me and my 8yr old daughter with her homework.
She needs to find out why it is that the sign for Biscuit is what it is?

Is there a special or strange reason for it being touching the elbow etc?

We've googled it etc but cant find any answers so would really appreciate any advice on this.

In the UK, a 'biscuit' is a cracker if I am not mistaken ;-).

That sign is also matzoh and Passover. It is supposed to be for breaking the unleavened bread.
