calling VP using PC

Maybe he use K-LIte Codec or FFShow or any Codec program with "VFW" support on Vista

I check website and not sure what to believe but this one not working on my Vista 64bit might be problem but I won't need it anyway.

Use static IP address.

Static IP, how so? If you are able to have static IP address set up, give me instruction!

I've checked out No-IP - Dynamic DNS, Static DNS for Your Dynamic IP, www.hopto.com ect and not sure how to set up those programs. I would LOVE to use static IP address for free.

Yes, using VP on your PC is possible. My friend uses VP on his PC, using video card installed in PC. Works great but the only problem is that callers cannot call him... it won't work... but he can make outgoing calls to any VP from his PC.

I have called my US friend from AUSTRALIA via Viable to VP - call with IP address and it works nicely!

So do you always need an IP addy and not regular phone number? My cousin want to call my VP using this method.

I tell him download VV and then he can follow instructions to call my VP with his webcam hooked to his computer and VV?

DeafTJ, yes your cousin will need to use IP address to contact you this way.

Thank you Brian! So I give him my IP addy and then he can type that in and it will call ring to my VP? Is it really as easy as it sounds, lol. He is not great on computer.

look up on your computer ip at What Is My IP Address? - IP Address Lookup, Info, Speed Test, and more then tell friend to vp you from any video devices (SVRS, DLINK, webcam and etc). A few friend uses webcam to call my VP200 addy (Alphanumberic addy thru dyndns.org services).
