Earthquake of Magnitude 6.2 Strikes Off Northern California

By Heather Langan

Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck off California’s northern coast, the U.S. Geological Survey said in an e-mailed alert.

The temblor struck at 5:43 a.m. local time today, at a depth of 62 miles (100 kilometers), the USGS said. The quake took place 133 miles west of Eureka, California, the monitoring agency said.

No tsunami is expected from the undersea quake, the USGS the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said in a separate alert.

Is it me or does there seem to be a lot of seismic activity off the western US coastline???????

This is about the 5th one this year in that range of magnitude of 4.0 to 6.2-being the highest now.......

Making me a little jittery.

:Ohno: i am nervous of my brother as he live near San Francisco with his wife and his 2 daughters yikes

It makes me nervous too because of tsunami's.

When they announce that there are no tsunami's--I really wonder....

Probably HAARP (look it up) causing all the earthquakes lately.

who knows? Nature's unpredictable. Anything's possible. When you say east... are you referring to Western Coast of USA?

Yeah, from West to East. Will it ( tsunami ) flood in West towards East ?

No it will not go that far - perhaps between 5 to 20 miles off shore if that happens but maybe even less than that.

It would take a tusamni of massive porportions to really reach the east coast from the west coast. I think it is physcially impossible anyway.
