Trying to cut back on your daily caffeine intake? Instead of stopping suddenly, take the time to gradually reduce your consumption. Though there is no conclusive evidence that caffeine is addictive or habit-forming, it is a mild stimulant. Quitting cold turkey may lead to symptoms of withdrawal, including headaches, anxiety, irritability, and muscle aches.

Caffeine itself does not cause headaches. As a matter of fact, caffeine may help in treating headaches, because it works to constrict blood vessels and restrict blood flow. That's why caffeine is commonly added to over-the-counter pain medications to increase their ability to relieve headache pain. :eek2:

Dr. Agatston recommends that people on The South Beach Diet™ limit their daily intake of caffeinated beverages to one or two servings. If you're used to drinking much more than this, try to ease yourself off the caffeine gradually to avoid experiencing those unpleasant symptoms of withdrawal.

I also hear that ice cream cause headache... :dunno:

Thats called brainfreeze, when you eat ice cream too fast your head hurts. I dont know what causes that but its different.

Caffiene withdrawl freally blows. I've seen some people go nuts without it. I like my pop and occasional starbucks frappacino :) Yay caffiene!

Actually what causes the "brainfreeze" is that the roof of your mouth do have nerves, so when something cold (and a lot of it) touches the roof of the mouth, you experience a rush of an "headache" -- that's why it tends to happen more when you glup it all up or take HUGE bites of ice cream, froyo, or anything else cold. Eeek!

i never get "brainfreeze" however i get "throatfreeze"

I realize I don't really have an caffine addiction .... oh my cat's dreaming, moving her little toes in her sleep..... sorry off topic, lol....

No, really... all my life I mostly drank Caffine-free sodas (Diet Pepsi in the copper/gold cans, etc), and I never really liked coffee. I've yet seen anyone get jitters or go crazy without caffine or coffee/tea in the morning.

Same reasons... you gulp a lot of it down your throat? Interesting. I experience more of the "brainfreeze" and "toothfreeze" when I do.

I never experienced headaches from caffeine withdrawl unless I skipped a meal. Skipping a meal with caffeine withdrawl is mind blowing thing! :eek2:

For ice cream, I get throat freeze and I stopped breathing normally because of that.

Cappucino ;) I like drinking coffee -- it really varies from day to day -- I drink between 2 cups to 6 cups, depending on how busy I am on each day. :P

Headaches causes by too much of sugar, heatwave, skip meals, sinus, or too much of caffeine... those I have experiences. :)

Beat the heatwave to drink that Gatorade...
