Buying FM system

cdmeggars,

Have you ever tried using a direct audio input (DAI) cord (also called a "shoe" or "boot") with your HA and Comtek FM system?

When I wore BTE HAs, I also didn't like the static, buzzing, hissing and drifting of sound I experienced when using a neckloop. The direct audio input cord provided a strong, clear signal that sounded 100 times better than a neckloop.

I didn't know there was that option for Comteks.

cdmeggars,

Yes, there is. You should be able to order a DAI cord from your audi (who can order it from the company who makes your hearing aids) He/she can also order a DAI cord (which comes in mono or stereo/bilateral) from Comtek.

I use a stereo DAI cord that was specifically designed by Comtek for use with my CIs. It works great with my Comtek 216 Mhz system.

I was wondering which FM system is better for home AND school use. The iSense by Phonak or an FM system from Siemens? I have APD, so I have otherwise normal hearing, but I have issues processing sound (voices especially in loud background noise). If anyone could let me know which is better, that would be great! Thanks! :ty:

Just b/c..........around here people pronounce idea as idear....guess they found an ah that they dropped from the sentance "I pahked da cah in Havahd Yahd", and tacked it on.......

But then you'd spell it ideah lol :P

If you have "issues processing sound" in background noise you might be hard of hearing lol. Anywho, an audiogram test will tell you whether you actually have hearing loss or not.
