If bush wants to do that then make a trade off.. NO VIDEO CAMERAS ALLOWED IN STORES AND BANKS! So that way if you wanna limit lawsuits to prevent people from getting wealthy make it easier to rob banks and 7-11 stores gas stations. If doctors can make mistakes and get away with it then i should get away with going up to a bank teller and say(( YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE?))
Im really pissed off on this nonsence!!

eh? The link I am reading was about injury lawsuits not about public cameras.

Well if stupid drivers are on the road they deserve to lose their house,Car and their bank accounts. Better yet Lets SUE the DMV for allowing them issue drivers licences to stupid drivers who cant read english or read follow road signs.

erm...okay?

forgieners don't have to know english in order to drive...they just need a vechicle for transportion anyway...just because they can't read doesn't make them stupid anyway.

Just like I can't read japanese doesn't make me stupid either... duh.

Well driving in france and in england and theyre driving the wrong side on the road. Can you picture if you go down the wrong way on the ramp enteriong on the expressway?my god!! would be a terrable pile up.

I am curious ravensteve, what does this have to do with your title of your topic?

Well theres all kinds of Lawsuits right, Injury Lawsuits,Malpratice Lawsuits, Wrongful death Lawsuits, Libility Lawsuits and more. I dont think lawsuits should be limited at all! Whatever the jury says is what goes even if its a billion dollar lawsuit.Limited lawsiuts would get the person less than its worth cause you still gotta pay the lawyer whole lotta money before youll collect anything. I rather have a salary cap on Doctors and lawyers so you dont even up paying too much or cost the insurance company too much nether.

Sure, like suing McDonald's simply because you accidentally made a cup of coffee fall into your lap.

There are far too many frivolous lawsuits costing the taxpayers' money big time.

To me personally, I would like to see lawsuit limited is because every time something little happen or if an accident happen then that person goes and file a lawsuit against the other person, the only thing they're looking for is anything that is green!!!

Here is an example:

I'm at the store walking around, then sudden I slipped and fell , then I end up in the hospital with a broken arm, and I go and sue the store because I got hurt there, see this is something soo silly to sue over, when U know accident do happen....

U don't go around and sue every person, store or whatever when an accident happens....All they want is money, they just want to sit home and earn it by suing others! It remind me of the woman who sue McDonald over a hot coffee...My goodness!! :dizzy:

Let me tell you this, I watch Judge Judy every day, she is one smart judge and she know when someone sue over silly things, then they go home winning nothing at all....It's like don't waste your time going to court by suing others , just go out and earn your own money by working for it! ;)

Judge Judy

She is a cool judge. Yes i agree with you .What about judge shoot cant remember his name i saw him today he used to be invovle in a gang but turned himself araound isnt Brown or something. My dad best friend daughter is a judge here in the west texas region .I went to school with her brother also twins.

I think if accidents happen and if it is provable that it was preventable, the lawsuits should remain with just paying the medical bills and the loss of income.

About that McDonald's hot coffee lawsuit.. the result should be that the customer never gotten a dime for spilling coffee on herself. No damn good reason for having this case won! Everyone KNOWS hot coffee is hot, period. If the McDonald employee threw the cup of coffee on a customer's lap, then that is reasonable to have a lawsuit.

I remember this woman who had a hot pickle falling onto her cheek from her hamburger. She sued them for millions, and her husband sued for emotional distress or something since he's the "husband".

It just sickens me.

Yep and McDonald was order to put a lable of HOT on the coffee cup...Good Grief, we all know that coffees are HOT!...

Well if the clerk wasnt doing his job sweeping and mopping up the spills and put up a wet floor sign you wouldnt get sued! Seems to me they should be sued and so therefor the boss has to fire that kid who didnt do his job and the boss has to pay damages to the customer. Thats one of the guidelines of my job as an movie usher. Theres a spill in the bathroom you gotta mop it up. Cause if you dont the customer sues us and the boss has to put the blame on somebody and he has to fire him or her because they didnt do their job.

Well i cant tell jokes on the air like david letterman can, so i can and earn a million dollars.
I cant Act like Micheal Douglas can, so i can and earn a million dollars.
I cant throw a baseball 90MPH like pedro martinez can so i can and earn a million dollars.
I cant jump high and dunk a basketball like michael jordan can. so i can and earn a million dollars.
I cant run 200 yards a game run for touchdowns like jamal lewis can. so i can and earn a million dollars.

So i gotta depend on lawsuits.

Actually, if I recall about that lawsuit (perhaps there have been more than one) the employee dropped the cup of coffee when handing it to the person through the drive-thru window. It was negligence on the employees fault and I think it was a valid lawsuit because the victim was burned badly. The point is that the employee was at fault, although an accident. I remember one time when I was eating and a restaurant and a waitress lost control of her tray and I caught a glassful of coke in the face. Fortunately it was cold and there were no injuries but it had it been something hot...

I'd like to see more done in regards of stopping frivalous lawsuits instead of limiting the legitimate ones.

Just a few examples (taken from the MARYLAND CITIZENS AGAINST LAWSUIT ABUSE) A great organization BTW

A Baltimore jeweler was sued for $3.5 million after a former client was robbed of her diamond ring after leaving a grocery store. The woman claimed that the jeweler, who had appraised the ring two years earlier, was responsible for the armed robbery. According to her reasoning, the jeweler appraised her ring too low, and if she had known the real value, she would not have worn the ring to the grocery store. The suit was finally thrown out of court after two years and $7,000 in legal bills for the jeweler.

A Parkville, Maryland, resident sued McDonald's for $1 billion after he was refused extra sauce for his chicken nuggets.

In Walkersville, Maryland, a golfer filed a $500,000 lawsuit against a friend and the friend's country club after he was handed a mustard-covered mouse as a practical joke during a golf outing.

Remember playing dodgeball as a kid? Today, while adult dodgeball leagues are gaining popularity, schools around the country including districts in Maryland are banning dodgeball. The likely reason is included in an article in The Journal of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance. Neil F. Williams, a physical education professor at Eastern Connecticut State University, wrote, "Generally speaking, the game is a litigation action waiting to happen."

In late 2003, Will Wright, a contestant and winner of $48,400 on the Wheel of Fortune sued the popular game show for injuries suffered during the taping. Mr. Wright alleged that he received a back injury when host Pat Sajak "leapt at his body with unbridled enthusiasm with a full-weight embrace."

A man in West Bend, Wisconsin threatened to sue a local cable company blaming the company for his addiction to television, his wife's weight problems and his children's laziness.

A Pennsylvania woman put a cherry Pop-Tart in the toaster and then forgot about it when she drove her children to school. Upon her return, smoke was billowing from her house and firefighters were already on the scene. She and her husband then proceeded to sue the Kellogg company for the damages to their home.

As you pointed out, that lawsuit makes better sense because it was a valid claim. Thanks for clearing that one up for all of us!

The article is actually more related to those "bullshit" lawsuits. Know those lawsuits where this woman is walking in front of your house and trips over the hose. She then sues you because it's on your property. How about the guy who was walking through an amusement park. Suddenly, it began to rain and he got hit by lightning. He then sued the amusement park because they did not warn him that a lightning would hit him. I think this is related to having "Stella" lawsuits restricted...

lawsuits SHOULD have LIMITS, the only people getting rich now are
the LAWYERS. The rest of us must pay higher INSURANCE costs because of
a select few who get hefty settelments

I agree with limit lawsuits because, too many overdoing suing for no common reasons and it should be avoid. :thumb:

Ravensteve, I think you should change the topic of your thread because, You stated that the lawsuits were related to video camera which was not. It was related to injury lawsuit, next time read the story before making a thread. :giggle:
