Poor President Bush... Do not forgot to send a greeting "Get Well" card to him.......

CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush (news - web sites) suffered cuts and bruises early Saturday afternoon when he fell while mountain biking on his ranch, White House spokesman Trent Duffy said.

Bush was on the 16th mile of a 17-mile ride when he fell, Duffy said. He was riding with a military aide, members of the Secret Service and his personal physician, Dr. Richard Tubb.

"He had minor abrasions and scratches on his chin, upper lip, nose, right hand and both knees," Duffy said. "Dr. Tubb, who was with him, cleaned his scratches, said he was fine. The Secret Service (news - web sites) offered to drive him back to the house. He declined and finished his ride."

Bush was wearing his bike helmet and a mouth guard when the mishap occurred. Duffy said he didn't know exactly how the accident happened.

"It's been raining a lot and the topsoil is loose," the spokesman said. "You know this president. He likes to go all out. Suffice it to say he wasn't whistling show tunes."

Bush left Crawford shortly after the bike mishap for Austin, where he was attending a private party of his daughter, Jenna, who graduated from the University of Texas earlier in the day. When he arrived in Austin, Bush was not wearing any bandages, although scrapes were visible on his right temple and on his chin.

As he departed from the presidential helicopter with his wife, Bush paused to give photographers a chance to take his picture, then shrugged, waved and got into a waiting limousine.

Earlier this month, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) took a spill from his bicycle while riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, Mass., about 18 miles north of Boston. Kerry fell when his bike hit a patch of sand. He was not injured.

Told about Bush's mishap, Kerry said, "I hope he's OK. I didn't know the president rode a bike."

I may not like the president, but I feel bad for him and because I've fallen off my bike before and it was not fun. At least John Kerry showed his compassion for President Bush.

Aw, I feel bad for him!....Hey, it doesn't mean I will change my vote! :)

 *pattin' on Bush's bike* Well-done job !!

:sure: Boo hoo! I aren't sending him a Get well Card, I'll be sending him a Boxer Right Over to him and Show him How Much I like Him...(Not!)

 Kerry choice right path - Bush should take Kerry's.. Haha just a joke!

My hubby was making fun of the fact Bush hurt himself... but I don't think it's right to take pleasure from someone's pain either, even if it's Bush. You just don't kick someone when he or she is down.

This is why politics and religion don't mix. =) I strongly feel that using religion to support political candidates is destructive to democracy. Democracy is founded on the idea that each person has the right to think and vote in the way they choose. Using religion co-opts this process. The worst thing is that some people use religion to excuse rude behavior. You did the right thing. Rudeness should not be tolerated, much much less at a prayer at the dinner table.
Despite these pushy people, I really do think you should vote. For yourself, not for others. When you let others push you away from doing this, you let them destroy your voice.

Going back on topic, I think bush can rightfully be mocked. As long as you mock Bush the 'public figure', instead of Bush the person. Satire, mockery, and the like have always been tools to show your disagreement with public figures. Indeed, one of the most powerful ones.

what a wussy!

seems that he's either too old or too stupid where to go as he's on the bike
