this is first time ever i have bronchitis in my life time. ive never been sick more than a week or a week and half max. i rarely got sick, though. with bronchitis, ive been sick for almost 4 weeks now. believe it or not, i havent miss a day at work but i left early one day due to lack of sleep. there has been problem at work because i dont have any back-up on my position, still currently looking for new hire to work with me. so, i think this is reason ive never got better because ive been overworked daily and being a couple of feets away from someone whos having pneumonia for a couple of weeks. at least, ive been told that im getting good credits for staying at work. lol
so im wondering what kind of medication have you recieved if you had bronchitis?
my doctor gave me this new antibotic (was approved by fda several months ago) ketek, nose spray- nasacort and oral spray- advair.
i couldnt really find any infos on ketek because its still new. i had ketek before i went to bed, i woke up in the morning with the taste like vomit on my tongue. it has effect on dysfunction of taste. ive read some things about advair and didnt know it was mostly for asthma people. there were different kind of negatives side effects on asthma people with advair. eek.
i hope ill hear from some of you who has bronchitis and tell me what kind of mediations have you taken and did it really worked? thanks!

I've never had that before. Hope you get well soon. :(

I remember I had that in 8th grade, and few years ago..... not funny! I had to be sick for like a week or so.....

ive once had "walking bronchitis" and i was given antibiotics for it -- hope u get well soon E!!! *huggies*

I've had bronchitis from time to time and I found that Erythromcyn worked the best for me. Also drink lots of water and sleep a lot. This medicine may work for me but not for everyone else...as everyone's body is different. The doctor may need to switch medicine if one was used up but doesn't work. Bronchitis can lead to Pneumonia if not enough rest, not enough drink fluid or not take medicine. I've had Pneumonia once and it was the worst. Pneumonia is very hard to breath, dizzy, confused and lots of pain in the lungs. Also sleep like 20 hours a day with pneumonia with fever. You would never want to go there. After I had Pneumonia, I quit smoking. It made huge difference. I've had asthma since then, but because I don't smoke, breathing is easier. If I continued to smoke, I might have not be here today because of all the bronchitis, pneumonia, etc that I went thru.

Please do take care of yourself, even if you need to take sick days from work. You are important enough to deserve the rest to recover. Hope you will recover soon.

Aww..sorry to hear you're sick with that. :( Although, I've never been struck down with bronchitis before -- but have heard it's a major drag being sick with that. Hope you get better soon!

eeww bronchitis. I never had em but had heard of em. Try cleaning your house because that might get rid of mold and dust. and maybe you will feel better.

I had bronchitis 3 times in my life... I got mine from Smoking and working at a factory... Bronchitis can cause for a lot of reason such as Smoking or the inhalation of chemical pollutants or dust. There a medication for it that last 10 days and boy that medication was expensive! I also worked in a factory where its a place to paint signs with a spray paint and I inhale it a lot during my times working there I quit that job after I had my third one during my time I was pregnant with Jordan.

Aww

I personally never had that one before but I sure hope you are feeling better E....That must been horrible being sick with bronchitis....

i had it for many times !!!!!!! i use varies med. nothing work for me ... i just let myself heal itself ... also let me advise ya to use hot steam to help ur breath better that what it work for me ... I know it is sucks to have it .... i hate it when i cough and split it out gross view ...

and I found that Erythromcyn worked the best for me.
Unless you're stone deaf or want a CI, I wouldn't reccomend any meds from the mcyn family......they can cause hearing loss

Is Zitromax those big pink pills? If so that works just Great!

Maybe this is what deafdyke was referring to?

"Gentamicin is an antibiotic with high risks and should only be used when other antibiotics are ineffective. The risk-benefit decision must be weighed carefully. The risk for hearing impairment has been found in some studies to be as high as 25% of patients using the Gentamicin class of antibiotics!"
