I bet it's bit hairy to drive. I almost plan to buy 1984 Triumph TR-7 which have aluminuim V8 engine. I could have hotrod it just like British car (Triumph is actually British car too).

How about hot rodding Hillman Imp (puny little car)
Seriously, it's so puny that my young 12 years old son can drive it comfortably. I bet 4 big guys would cram inside of the car, not leaving enough breathing room and head against the ceiling. Surprisely it's legal to drive in USA. If you haven't seen Imp before, be surprise how tiny is the 4 seater car. It's almost the same size of Golf Cart but only bit wider and it's about little more than 4 ft tall. (oversized electric Powerwheel for Adults) I ever wonder how can fat guys would fit in?? It would be too funny to see guy driving with steering wheel against his chest and head against windshield.

Take a closer look how small the car is. You can see guy driving in light blue Imp and imagine that you're sitting inside of it.

There's a friend in the UK who owns a fairly warmed-over Hillman Imp, it'll beat most things off the mark, no top end but handles brilliantly.

The TR7 you're looking at has the Rover 3.5 V8, which is a development of the Buick V8. It's tourque-y, durable, and most-importantly very under stressed. Land-Rover ported it to 4 Litres and above in their Range-Rovers without too many dramas ( I had one ).
I've worked on these engines before and provided you don't cut many corners on them, they'll look after you. And the exhaust note is to die for.
The Noise of a British Army Land Rover 101 V8 is something I'll carry with me to my grave :)
