Bonjour! Newbie from South Florida!

Hi,

Maybe you means Landshut and Stuttgart? :) If yes, then goody good.
I am happy for you, you enjoyed in Germany.

I have been studying to be nursing, got job as nursing. But with my deafness they kind of gave me hard time. Every shift they move me to different wings. I know I took good care of my residents because I tend to get thank you card, hugs, and was called "Angel nurse." But it seem like the head nurse was nervous because I was deaf. Then one day I caught other nurse talking bad about deaf said "You know deaf people cannot talk then why the hell they work for?" I was upset so I approach to her and said "Why I work? To earn money for living. I'm not living off walfare, food stamp like most breeder does." She was pissed for me saying that. I had enough that day so I told my head nurse that I'm quitting, then I found something else that I love which was travel agent. (Hotel reservations agent)

When I was little I used wanted to be flight Attendant then possible co-pilot, always want to work for Air China or Singapore airline on boeing 747 and now Singapore has new airbus called A380 which is beautiful aircraft. But when I tried to apply for school they said I have to be able to hear and talk to work as flight attendant. I've fought to try to bypass that and never success so I gave that dream up... it would be nice if I could work there. Walk up the asle and say "Maam what would you like to drink? Tea? Coming right up.... Would you like Fried rice noodle & Chicken or Tofu & Shrimp?

Damn that has been my dream job since I was little boy and still is... but knowing my deafness stop me from reach that dream :(

I was a nurse and got "blackballed" as the term goes. They hated me because I had to have special equipment that I got from the department of rehabilitation services here in Alabama. For work they bought me my first pair of hearing aids and they also bought me a special stethoscope and bpcuff for me to use so I could hear the heartbeat and other sounds I needed to hear. then I moved to England and when I come beck they won't let me be nurse anymore. say I am too deaf now. yeah my hearing hasn't changed that much! anyway if you live in Florida then the state run place should be called something like FDRS or something like that. Look it up on Google or something, they could help as long as it is job related. They are now teaching me a job I can do from home, part time on the internet so I can stay home with my dogs and get house clean too. Oh and my dad learned to fly and he is over 80% deaf. He even had his own flight school for helicopters and fixed wings till he got sick with his heart. Don't let your disabilities disable you from what you want. My Dad didn't and he is better off now for it. Don't let what people say make you feel bad or down or not good enough. You do what you want! they are your dreams, fight for them! :) ;)

Hi,

Maybe you means Landshut and Stuttgart? :) If yes, then goody good.
I am happy for you, you enjoyed in Germany.

I don't remember for sure and my birth certificate is locked in the safe so I can't tell you what it says on it but yes I do think you are right. I don't often get asked where I was born and when I do I just say Germany instead of town or city or whatever. I want to go back really bad. When my husband gets his green-card we are going to go back and visit his family and I hope we can go to Germany and visit where I was born for a day or two while we are in Europe. It is so nice to talk to someone from Germany, PM me some time. Oh I grew up on a dairy farm while I was there and the name of the people that owned it were the Ischenfelder's they called themselves ooma and oompa or something like that for me cause they said I was their grand baby. When I was teething they would stick my pacifier in rum to numb my gums up and put me to sleep.:ty: for bringing back some good sweet memories:wiggle:;):grouphug: ;)
