Bomb Threat at My City School Lead to boy having Master Key to School

2 girls made a fake 911 bomb threat to the High School here on the first day of school, they were both arrested ( the girl who owned the phone and the one who made the call) the school was evacuated,, then re-instated within a few hours. A week later the swat team made a surprise visit to the school. No announcements, all classes were entered at the same time, all cell phones were seized and book bags. They had dogs swarming the school and then everyone was told to go in the hall to get their book bags, those that didnt find their bags were arrested ( drug dogs found dope in them ) the cell phones were seized to prevent someone from calling the dealer(s) or friends to warn them... had a major ring busted that day.

While this is a very serious matter and I agree it's always scary when it happens, I can't help but think of anyone (student or teacher) who hasn't had a situation like this (or something similar) happen at their school at least once through the years at school...

My daughter was telling me some kids made fake bomb threats at the school in her city too. This is really bad b/c it a waste of man power and taxpayers money. I am not sure if the cops found who send the email to the high school in my city and this was not even on the news. I would love to know way the cops did not have the students evacuate when they thought a bomb was in the school.

I attended 12 public schools and four colleges, and I never had that experience.

I asked TCS, and he said he never did either.

My daughter never did, and my two grandsons never did.

A boy I went to school with called up the principal in Jr. high and said there was a bomb in the school .The principal knew who the boy was and said "Is that right John Doe. " Of course that was not the boy name and school was not called off . That was the only time this happen and my daughter never had a bomb scarce while going to school. There was once a lock down when a guy was spotted no far from the school with a rifle . He was hunting on private property that belonged to a famer , not too bright of him.

I agree. At my school some student got into the school during the night and pulled a prank. Changed all the combinations to the lockers.

Some students didn't get their books for the entire day. I found it funny.

How can you compare changing all the combinations to the lockers to a bomb scarce ???

I still can't imagine that a student would be allowed to keep a key to any school property. However, master keys and room keys are usually very different in cut and appearance, should be labelled, and should be under stricter custody. That is, the master key should be under the principal's custody. If the high school has a security officer, that might be someone else who would have access to a master key.

If the master key isn't being held in tighter custody than that, I would say the school administration might be in deep do-do for their slackness.

Janitors, maintenance, other administrative officials. In the above example the student nabbed the key from the maintenance office and the key for the lockers were with the secretary to the principal.
