can body worn REALLY sound better than BTE digitals?

I no that body worn aids would be better than BTE for manament reasons.
 
Had those as a kid...

They would still fall out of your ears if you don't have a proper fitting. Also they are prone to taking in a lot of white noise (from clothes rubbing.) Not to mention they are bulky and awkward to wear.
 
I wore bodyworn in school as a kid but at home I wore BTE HAs. They don't make bodyworn HAs for a long time now. Todays BTE HAs can offer a gain up to 70db and if that isn't enough for you, no HA in the world will be any good, not even bodyworn. Youd be a CI candidate or you can wait for stem cells.

However in your case, you only have a mild hearing loss and auditory processing disorder so no HA is gonna give you much improvement except make environmental sounds louder.

sounds like cars are all the digital aids (widex ak9s) help with anyway.

if body worns dont help the kid they normally get a ci
 
deafdude............actually they still use body worn aids in other countries.
inmate........the gain from body worn aids would probaly increase your hearing loss...it would be like shooting a flea with a bullet.

:lol: Right, I forgot... you threw hearing aids out as a kid too. I did that three times before my mom just got me a body-worn one because the government and insurance got tired of replacing them.

Well then she would probably be happy as she would be deaf for real.

And maybe then get treatment for her Munchausen's or whatever it is.:cool2:

I would think that they're worse than BTEs and ITEs.

Since wearing BTEs is having microphones directly on/in your ears, you're functioning like a hearing person and sounds are coming to your hearing aids like they come to a hearing person. (No, I don't mean they make you hearing... but the concept is the same.)

However, with chest hearing aids... it's on your chest. Therefore, any sound coming from behind you would sound different than coming from in front of you. So, if you wanted to hear something better... you would have to turn your whole body to face that sound.

Nope. I do.

Threw out hearing aids three times out of the car when I was five. Dog ate my hearing when i was 12. Cat chewed up ear mould when I was 17. Lost my left Sumo XP in a muddy, cold moshpit two years ago.

I got worse luck with glasses.

Now... for the original topic...

Well, despite the fact we told you why your BTEs were falling out, and that you don't really need hearing aids due to your loss... enjoy?

I wore a body worn aids when I was 4 years old. It was short time. I hate IT!!!!! I like the BTE better!

I spent some time in India, where they still use bodyworn HAs. In fact I was asked by someone 'What are those things in your ears?'. So I don't think they are familiar with BTEs at all.
 
I laugh every time I see someone mentioning chucking HAs out the car window. I never did that, never even thought to! The image it conjures in my mind is hilarious.

Threw them out the window 3 times as well, my dog ate one last week, I purposely had horses step on them 3 times, dropped 2 in horse feed and fed it to the horses, went swimming with them on times, and destroyed two by chewing on them when I was a toddler. I win.
