Blinking banners should be banned!

AD used to have a text-only site, but I don't know what happened to it. I access AD using a screen reader and Braille display and have found that disabling signatures, avatars and images makes site navigation much easier.

I found this in my inbox that I saved for a long time.
It’s easy enough to disable animated GIFs in Firefox entirely:

1. In a blank tab’s address bar, type about:config to display the configuration settings.
2. In the Filter field, type image. to search for the image configuration options.
3. Double-click the image.animation_mode entry.
4. In the Enter String Value dialog box, change ‘normal’ to ‘none’.
5. Click OK.

Note: This disables all animated GIFs, not just ads.
I don't even use Mozilla Firefox so this trick should do just fine for you, Mozilla Firefox users. :)

I don't think this has anything to do with sigs, really--judging by the section this is in, I'm guessing the thread starter was referring to ads.

Those blinking banners don't bother me. I try not to use bright colors if I find a banner or signatures. I just use my common sense. ;)
What about the one you have now?

This is the comment which caused the original thread to be diverted into a different, but somewhat related topic:

If you would like to try this - You can go to the User CP (Control Panel) on the top of the page and go to "Edit Options", You will be able to see this - (It is down near the bottom of the "Edit Options" section on the User CP.) When you are on the "Edit Options" section, You will be seeing this -

You can disable these options by unchecking those options (the boxes next to it) in order to make AllDeaf much pleasant to you ;) I hope this will help you in a way.
