Actually men still hit on me from time to time. Doesn't really bother me....I take it as a compliment and politely decline. Now in the workplace....that would be totally different. That would be a problem.

Grayma, FYI, we do not want to marry the opposite sex. We want to marry someone who just happens to possess the same primary sexual parts as we do. WE ARE HUMAN. The women I have loved, I love as PEOPLE. If they'd been males, my feelings for them would have been the same. WHY should the government deny my right to have all the privlinages that are accorded to straight couples? We want equality...the right to marry who WE LOVE. Do you know ANY gay couples? My second mom and her girlfriend have a WONDERFUL realtionship, as do countless number of my friends...the love is just like in a straight realtionship.
And marriage is evolving............we don't offer a goat and six hens for our daughters any more, and we are now marrying for LOVE, and accepting interacial and all kinds of marriage b/c it's changing and evolving.
It doesn't affect you at ALL! You know in 10 years people are gonna look back and wonder what the big deal was about the gay marriage controversy....
 
The law that marriage is between one man and one woman applies to everyone. Why is that hard to understand?

What is wrong with same sex civil unions?

I know, I know ... its not the same thing .... well, of course it isn't, same sex committed relationships is not a marriage - it isn't the same thing.

Let me ask this. Suppose it becomes Federal Law that Same Sex couples can marry. Suppose a same sex couple decides they want to marry in a church. Suppose the pastor of the church denies the marriage based on religious convictions - will the same sex couple then cry "discrimination"?

You can bet the farm they will.

Why would homosexual men hit on straight men? I thought gay people didn't bother straight people. Wasn't that one of the arguments behind getting rid of DADT?

Civil unions and marriage are not same at all.

You want marriage between one man and one woman but I disagree... I want marriage equality for everyone, even one man and one man, one woman and one woman, one man and one woman.

When DOMA is gone so federal recognize any marriage that legal in state and other states should respect marriage, regardless on same sex or opposite sex.

For last question, you are silly. Only way to get marriage license from court so anyone can have marriage ceremonies in anywhere, even in court. Some gay people got married at GLBT friendly churches. I won't care if any church deny marriage ceremonies to GLBT people, just like many GLBT people do, we will have marriage ceremonies in other way, especially GLBT friendly church, Disneyland, Disney World, etc.

Civil unions aren't true marriage and that's very unacceptable for me.

For marriage ceremony, I rather go to Disneyland and it is none of your business if I want marry with my partner.

Sex orientation doesn't cause them to hit, it is just their behavior, not sex orientation. :roll:

Pastors can now turn down couples for a variety of reasons. They can't be required to perform weddings.

They can cry discrimination if they want but they can always go to a JP if they want to get married.

Yup, I agree with you and you are just blessing woman. :hug:

I think you already know I'm bisexual and it is my own business to do with my lifestyle. I can have gay marriage whatever I want and I don't care if people complains about gay marriage is immoral so it won't change me. I'm fighting so hard to beat the discrimination that based on sex orientation and I just ensure all people to have better life, regardless on sex orientation, even no more bullying.

Speaking about church, that why I support separation of government and state so government is supposed to leave church alone as church leave government alone. I don't agree with Obama about change the birth control policies that require religious institutions to cover birth control without any copay.

When gay marriage is legal in some states, the churches are subject to be exempted and it is up to them to take or not.

While a wedding may be private, a marriage is a matter of public record.
