For bird owners (or anyone),

It is very important for you to know about Teflon in your kitchen that can affect your bird's health that lead to death. Teflon is one of many things that you use such as waffle iron, some pans, and some others on the stove.

Here are two links:

I am pretty sure that the Teflon is also bad for human because some things that we do not know where the cancer come from so it is probably one of them on the danger list. Like lung cancer, skin cancer, etc. In 20 years later, a big news might says that it is very harmful to human. Most companies, who make Teflon or other brand, do not give a damn about customers except profits.

May I suggest to do Google research about parakeets, parrots and birds in general.
It is true some birds can live as long as 60 and many MORE years and actually outlive their owners. It is also true some of them are very attached to one owner and die after separation.

before you buy a bird ask yourself these questions:
do you know where is your bird coming from? because how do you know if by buying this bird you indirectly contribute to animal cruelty:

""During the time the birds are captured and when they arrive at their final destination, they are subjected to severe stress due to ruthless capture methods, cramped conditions and long journeys, which result in many dying before reaching their destination. An estimated 40-70% of all wild birds captured die before they are exported, with more birds dying during the journeys and in quarantine. Those birds that do survive could then be subjected to unnatural and confined housing, deprived of free flight and of their natural diet. Consequently many develop diseases due to captivity conditions.""

also, ask yourself if you are disciplined and dedicated enough to take serious care of a bird- it is really challenging!
