Bilingual School CS & ASL

That does not change the system of Cued Speech.

If you add features, and call it Cued American English, then it becomes a different system, jsut as SEE1 and SEE2 are different systems.

If you add features, and call it Cued American English, then it becomes a different system, jsut as SEE1 and SEE2 are different systems

Quite simply by the use of the words "incorporates" and "combines with".

Comparing CS to a signing system, again demonstrates you vague understanding of CS. You are quite incorrect.

I didn't compare CS to a signing system. I stated that the features that make SEE1 and SEE2 different systems are similar tothe features that make CS and CAE different. You can not change any system and have it remain the same. It is virtually impossible. When SEE2 added features, it no longer was SEE1. And when CAE adds features, it is not long CS as developed by Dr. Cornett.

Perhaps it is you that doesn't understand.

Make that call........

It doesn't matter how you slice it, you are still incorrect.

Whatever. Exactly how am I incorrect then?

I know you are wrong

I'm asking you. You are the one that said I am wrong. I already know what the source says, and have referred to it several times. Still you say I am wrong. If I am, please explain to me exactly how and where I am wrong.

You seem to have difficulty believing anything that I state regarding CS. I am simply directing you to the author of the article and the director of the program.

You seem to have difficulty believing anything that I state regarding CS. I am simply directing you to the author of the article and the director of the program.

I am referring to what the article itself stated. You are telling me that what I am eading and referring you back to is wrong. If you consider the article to be correct, how is it that when I use the same article, it is suddenly wrong?

And when CAE adds features, it is not long CS as developed by Dr. Cornett.

LOL.....you simply do not get it.

This:
It incorporates the visually discrete features of cued speech, designed by Dr. R. Cornett in 1966, including handshapes, movement, and mouth shape, and combines them with prosodic information via visually discrete non-manual features, such as head thrust and brow movement to convey the linguistic features of American English."
does not change the system. You do not know the system. The article did not state that CS system changed when used for American English. Quit reading into it something that is not there.

Here is a list of CS instructors across the United States and Canada. If you ever decide to actually enroll and complete a workshop, perhaps then we can enter into a dialogue of the nuances CS. Until then.......:dunno:

LOL.....you simply do not get it.

This: does not change the system. You do not know the system. The article did not state that CS system changed when used for American English. Quit reading into it something that is not there.

When you combine a system with other features, the system changes. It is no longer exactly as it was. I sam not reading anything that isn't stated in your article. It stated that features were added tothe original system developed by Dr. Cornett. If something is added, it changes. Period. Perhaps you are having difficulty understanding this because you do not want to understand it.

CUEDSPEECH.org > Professionals > Find an Instructor

It is not necessary to enroll in a workshop to understand the functioning of the system. I already have knowledge of how CS functions.

I do find it odd, however, that there are so few instructors of this method. In my state, there is only one, and even that one is not located in a city with a deaf school.
