Big City or Small Town...???

Geez, I can NOT imagine myself live in
any BIG city I'd go crazy and insane in a big city...
reason: i HATE to look for these parking spaces
and crowds

I grew up in a very small town almost NO traffic
at all for many years... Maybe I'm already spoiled rotten ?

I LOVE small town !!! because of peace roads
because of no traffic I've always live in a small town
or always OUT of the city area I like to live
in a very quite peaceful environment so thats why
i still live in a pretty small town now near the
country rurals and pretty near to the big city

Got couple good friends that live in surbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul area including Edina as well but I'm almost always in Brainerd area whenever I'm in Minnesota. I'm from Illinios myself, grew up in the country outside Bloomington/Normal. So I would prefer live in a country just outside a city or suburbs. Right now I live in Gates, which is considered a suburb of Rochester with wonderful roomies as well. So peaceful and less traffic, not to mention open space views of the nature! :)

heh.. by any chance that one person from Edina, would be a guy named Erik?

Well, I live in big city almost whole of my life in California.. Frankly, I prefer to live in small city but near big city for resources, deaf school (if having deaf kids), etc. Actually, it is largely depend on my lover/wife to see if she would be happy if we live in small city or country. If she don't then I guess big city will do for both of us. (My personal belief is that as long as my lover is happy, I would be happy. I don't know why but I feel that way)

I always wish that I live in suburb instead of in big city for some reason. Also I love to do outdoor activities (mountain bike, mountain climbing, snowboard, ski crosscountry, backpacking, etc. Hence country or small city is perfect for me... :/

Moved to farmhouse.. ahh much better and ever felt so peaceful and enjoying being quiet and keep me busy all day the house. We felt miss so much to being used to be living farmhouse and will condiser to move farmhouse again and will seek to buy a country house by rural of St Thomas (outside of town).

My heart really loved being living quiet place and good suitable for my kids can long run and play whatever want to... than city.

I was a city girl & grow up in a big city (London) until I met my hubby that´s place where he grow up in a small & romantic town in Germany

We live at countryside only 4 km away from small town. I travel to small town by bicycle for small shopping. If big shopping, then use a car.

I love countryside every minutes which it´s good for the kids to bring up...& less worries... The kids play there safety with their friends than at city...

Washington D.C. will be a good choice if you plan to move out of state. Deaf community there is huge due to Galludent.
Yikes! ya know that Washington DC is the number one murder capital???
its a lovely city BUT..so dangerous too!! I would never live there!!..*shudders*

Born and raised in a small town then moved out to the country when i was a child..dad wanted to raise cattle and chickens...im still a country gal! I never liked living in town. My husband and I live out in the country and loving it!!

I have lived in medium sized suburbs. I have never liked living in the major cities as it's so congested and the pace of life in those cities are so high and fast, that I simply cannot keep up!
I prefer small to medium sized towns.

Concieved in a small village, plopped out in a small town, went to High School in a small city, now living in the 'Big Smoke' Auckland pop 1.5 million and still climbing...

I perfer to live in large cities with large Deaf communities... makes things easier in terms of communication choice.

The city where I live in now still has the feeling of suburbs, even though I live 2 miles from Temple Square. SLC only has a small fraction of the population of NYC (140.000 people compared to 3 million in Manhattan).

Thought NYC has 9 millions people?

Yeah, you are about correct, but kuifje75 is talking about Manhattan itself, not the rest of New York City.

New York City is made up of five boroughs which are with five counties. The Bronx (Bronx County), Brooklyn (Kings County), Manhattan (New York County), Queens (Queens County), and Staten Island (Richmond County)

I've always wanted to know how NYC was broken down into...NOW, I've learned something today! I just never bothered to take the time to plow through the map of NYC, although, I knew the population was close to 10 million altogther. Sooo...that puts NYC as America's largest city...does any of you know the next three largest cities?

  • 1--New York City
  • 2--
  • 3--
  • 4--
