Police: SC man sent nude pix from customer’s phone

MAULDIN — A South Carolina cell phone repairman has been charged with voyeurism after police say he forwarded nude pictures of a customer’s wife to himself from the customer’s phone.

Multiple media outlets report that 29-year-old Jason Robu of Mauldin was arrested Thursday.

Police say a man hired Robu to fix his cell phone twice during the past month. Last week, the customer checked his phone after Robu had worked on it and found a transmitted e-mail with a nude picture of his wife attached.

Police say that photo had been sent to Robu’s e-mail address.

Police say Robu has been released from jail on a $1,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Not cool, I prefer to repair my cell phone on my own or send to first party repair, such as Apple.
 
That is really scary. Some people are just sicko. I was told by a friend of mine, that tehre's local cell phone repairman around here, and he fix over hundred cell phone from this state, and other states - he also put the keylogger on each phone to collect the data information/multimedia, and such.

Til one client of his found out about this, and turn in to the investigation team, and they arrest him, and stay in prison for life-time.
 
It's happened before, not just with phones. With computers, laptops, personal electronics capable of storage. Moral of the story is make sure you trust who you are sending your stuff to. People will do things when bored.

When I have control of personal computers, I try my best not to look into folders that I don't need to. Sometimes I do see things I don't need to see, but I just ignore it.

I think its best for people to get know their gadgets very well, once they do, and its not really necessary for them to send their gadgets to local repairman. They can fix on their own, there's plenty of answers through online.
 
probably a significant number of cell phone owners have nudie pics on there phones. probably a higher % of males have one or more. probably 90% of teens have a nudie, unless they are in a catholic school then the % is like 99%
 
Sometime, someone brought dead computer to my house. I fixed computer for him or her. They wants me to make backup important files before erase hard drive. I found some nude pictures or short movie. I do respect anyone's private life. I won't to tell any his/her friends or relatives. Keep seal my own mouth!!

I had them sent to my cellphone, but I never kept the explicit ones on there. Why? Anyone can gain access to your phone, it's not hard.

And anyone who keep pictures or videos of their girlfriend or boyfriends on a device easy to pickpocket is an idiot.
 
I'm not surprised at all. When I did both work with Sorenson and computer repair services. There are one time that one of my Sorenson client that need help with his VP-200 and it turned out there's a problem with router, so when I look for the router (his office is very messy and not clean at all) and apparently when I found the router on the floor and there's a paper print out behind it, it turned out that it's a photo of his wife naked. What I did? I just simply pick up the print out and show it to her husband and I said "You need to be more careful", he was like "choked". The reason of showing it to him so he can be more aware of "I already saw it" and give him a lesson not to be sloppy with how to store "naked photo".
The other time when I do services for computer repair, I seen it many time with naked photo on computers, there are few times when my clients sat with me and I was going through helping him or her how to back up a file and make comparison making sure that all the file backed up properly. Some how when I clicked one folder that show bunch of naked pictures, and this guy say..."Oh sorry I forgot about that!" and I told him don't worry about it..I seen it many times, just think same way as a Doctors seeing naked women when doing diagnose on women's body.
You know, I told many clients if he or she have naked photo, they are require to sit with me while I'm working on the computer. So they can watch me what I'm doing. I also told the clients, if I happen to saw his or her naked photo by accident, I let them know that it's a complete confidental and asssure them that I seen it many times.
As far as cell phone or whatever, they should know better backing up the photo to computer or CD or DVD and THEN ERASE IT on cell phone.

I used to work for Sorenson Communications in fe different positions in couple of years & I resigned.

During my time as installer/trainer - I went to one of the customer house, and their dogs weren't being taken care of. The place is very poor. I could see those ribs pops out on dogs skins.

Same here. I am agreed with you. It's happend to me from five or six customers.

Happen to me when I repaired customer's computer and my customer watch what I do then I just simple turned computer on and there is a lot of porn and picture of himself in nude. The customer was laugh so hard and I said, "okay, we are here for solve a problem. So, not worry about that." When I am done with my customers then I use my hand sanitizer pocket.

The hand sanitizer pocket is tool and perfect for ill customers, porn freak, etc.

I wish customers rethink about their folder,files, wallpaper, etc from mobile/computer/digital camera before they send them to repair.
 
When I found porn on clients computers , I simply erased the files and said " Ooops". Then I laughed on the way out the door ...
 
LOL it happen to when I found digital camera left at somewhere and I decide to return to the "Lost and Found" as I'm being honest but with evil inner of me. I decide to nosy on what picture on whom took it. Turn out, there are few fat naked girls in there. OH SHIT!!! I decide to toss battery away, which is AAAs. To make sure nobody see it as it return to the person
 
I'm curious about what anyone would do if you found kiddie porn on a cell phone? Would you turn that over to the police?

I will report it to police. I have a guy here next office down who is FBI computer forensic expert. I'll just pass it on to him.
