My 15 year old son is deaf and uses a cochlear implant to hear when he is not in bed/sleeping. I am looking for a device that will, with a bed shaker, alert him to a phone call or fire at night when he is alone in bed. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sonic Alert makes a number of amazing systems - I've had my Sonic Boom alarm clock for almost 20 years and it still works great (and allows me to "hear" the door, phone, etc).

For smoke detectors, a stand alone strobe one works best - Sonic Alert might carry them, or know who does.

if he has a smartphone, the Nest app along with the alarm would be for him (the color around the circle on the alarm is visual!)

*the Nest app will alert him if there's smoke, fire or if the battery's getting low*

Is that "Nest app" available for BOTH Android and iPhones? Some apps have been written for one or the other but not both. Then there are some that have a version for both.

I'm sure you can look up the app - Google is your friend - and find out.

I know I can. I was just disappointed that which it is for was not given in the first place. I should have asked that way.

LoveBlue is right. Google is your best friend.:aw:

I already said that I know that!!!!!!!!!!!
I was trying to find a thoughtful way of telling the person the originally posted the app that which it would run on should have been included. It seems nothing I posted regarding this app was taken the way I intended.

It's on Android and Apple, but you need to have the compatible Nest products to use it.
