Best Deaf Studies/Interpereting programs?

Between finances not working out and the new RIT certification guidelines im starting to worry that im not going to make it. I have never wanted something as much as this. I quit my job, moved away from family and friends, everything just so I can pursue this dream. Yet things just keep piling up in front of me, trying to prevent me from succeeding :-(
It's RID, not RIT.

Things will prevent you from succeeding only if you let them.

To be honest, much of professional interpreting is being able to self-activate, advocate for self and others, find creative ways to overcome hurdles, and persevere.

I practically had to design my own ITP in order to graduate. You probably wouldn't believe some of the things I had to do in order to get my training. But it was all worth it. :)

If you really want it, you can get it.

I've heard that Boston and Tennessee Temple have good programs. I've been to workshops sponsored by Georgia Perimeter College, and they seem to have a good program.

I don't know about the best but Ohlone's interpreting program (IPP) in Fremont, CA has a great reputation and it doesn't hurt that it's located smack dab in the middle of one of the largest, most active Deaf communities in the United States. The program is competive and difficult to get into.
A nearby Deaf population is always a plus. :)

Yes, its important to me to have a nearby deaf community. Anybody know what the DC is like in Portland or Seattle?
Where-ever I get my training is where I would like to live, and CA isnt a place I would want to live.

lol why not California? :P

But Seattle and Portland are also great places. Seattle has a large Deaf-blind community and you could also become a DB interpreter.
