This is a thread for you all to post what you think is the best invention and what is the worst invention and why.


Me...

The worst....plastics.

I think it is the worst even though I use it because it is so damaging to our environment. We seem to can't live without it now so we use it and dispose it. It doesn't decompose and animals mistakenly eat them or get trapped in them. If it had never been invented, I think we would have been fine.

The best...text messaging

I can communicate with anyone on the phone without needing a tty.

The best: a toss up between the refridgerator and penicillin

The worst: hmm not sure which I think is worst but Twitter and Daylight Savings Time come to mind at the moment.
 
Well pre hearing loss I would say the best was caller ID, I never answered the phone if it said anonymous caller, if you don't want me to know who you are, I don't want to know you hahaha. Now I just don't answer it. If you don't know I'm deaf and don't talk on the phone...then I don't know you and I don't want to talk to you anyway hahaha.

Now I'm with shel text messaging!!! The best for a deaf person anyway.

The worst?? I don't know...the Flowbee is still the silliest thing I ever saw I think.
 
Best: cell phones.

Worst: Tough call. Video games come to mind. Huge waste of time and potential talent.
 
Same for me, text messaging.....or I would never hear from my kids. When they actually call.....I know it's for money and they want their dad. Hahaha

Worst..so many but today I will say McDonalds or all fast food restaurants.
 
Best, text phones, and the internet.

Worst, training systems for dogs involving collars that give electric shocks.
 
best - technology -many great advances making out lives easier or better
worse - technology -its turning on us - loss of privacy, we are growing by leaps and bounds so we tend to ignore quality. for example captioning , we have it now , but 10 years ago it was all real time captioning. now the news is scripted if you are in not in top 25 DMA.
 
Incredible access to information and censoring/hiding/moving of information.

It is astonishing to me how enormous chunks of information can be sidelined in the interests of manipulating the masses.
There has to be an agency that is solely concentrated on this constantly dialing it like the audi does with our hearing aids.
I bet no one knows the name of it.
 
Best invention ever : The wheel (first thing I thought of)

Worst invention ever : The sports bra
 
Best invention: turbos for cars and mowers.

Next best invention: hearing aids and bicycles

Worst invention: fur coats. No animals should be killed for clothings.

The Internet is the best and the worst as has hurt a lot people losing their jobs. like the Post office.
 
The best invention: the comb.
I shall never part with mine.
 
The best: the invention of writing, because it has allowed knowledge to be accumulated and passed on to the next generation.

The worst: television, because it seems to have degenerated into a babysitting machine, not just for kids, but for adults, too. I think people would get a lot more out of life if they watched TV a lot less. Not saying it's all bad, but it seems to have replaced a meaningful life for some people.

But in 20,000 BC your ancestors would have died if they didn't wear fur to keep themselves warm...

I can see people's point if they say that today people shouldn't wear fur, but that's only because we've invented other fabrics (from plastics, mostly) to replace fur clothing. :)
