Are we talking about burka or burkha?

Because burka is part of a military uniform...

Burkha is the Islamic piece of clothing...

It will be interesting to see what happens now in Belgium, that will answer some of the questions here. I suspect more than one liberal and secular muslim is clapping her hands wildly.

If it was as simple as you said, no one would discuss this or even pass this law.

Burkha! The concern is mostly with a kind of burkhas called niqabs. Common style burkhas are easy to remove from the face when going into stores and generally percieved to be less extreme than niqabs.

The Islamic piece of clothing. Arabic words tend to have multiple spellings in English cause of the nature of transliteration. E.g. Muhammad, Muhamed, Mohamed...

I've seen burka spelled burqa too.
