Behold, the Power of Subaru: WRX STI tows semi out of snow

Some Subaru's brake system suck but Sti's brake system is great!

ALL of the subarus I drove brakes were bad. I haven't drove any STI's yet.

(Just so you folks know, I grew up in a city (and still live in it) where there are a TON of subarus around. So, it is very easy for me to test drive quite a few.)

probably cuz they were poorly maintained or quickly destroyed by snow salt? :dunno:

I love my Subaru! Had mine for almost a year. I love how the car is easy to handle and gets me to my house down the muddiest road during rainy season.

The rotars on mine doesn't wobble! Have them turned and maintained.

I believe it is purely personal preferance and how well they handle on specific vehicle. I know one guy that had small Ford ranger 4x4 and actually pulled 18 wheelers out from snow.

4x4 and AWD, I believe it is still personal preferance and matching skills. I am not great with AWD as I already drove, and still prefer 4x4 with HI and LO becaue I know how to handle these better than AWD. Guess what? I never had problem with part time 4x4 system. I know one simple rule, never never enable 4x4 while driving on icy roads, I always disable 4x4 where there is serious icy conditions. PLUS I grew up where there is bridge capital of the world, I never press on gas or brake pedal on wet bridge with degree of 32F or below, I just let it go and let it slide until I touch pavement road.

DHB

LOL, 4x4 cars and trucks can pull it. I read article about Jeep Liberty is capable of pulling Semi Tractor Trailer over the snowy hill.. I own Jeep Liberty Limited with 3.7liter engine.

Sabaru can do it too.

Ive drove my old roomie's 2003 WRX (normal one not the STi) and I liked it. However personally I dont think the WRX STi is a capable tow vehicle in the snow. If I ever get stuck in snow I would rather have a Ford F550 SuperDuty with the new 6.7 Powerstroke Diesel and 4x4 pull me outta snow..huge torque rocks!

If the WRX STi and the F550 were in a drag race with a semi behind each vehicle, ...I would bet my $ on the F550.

Do video hurt you? :D Look and believe. So deal with it.

You already lost your bet. F550 does not exist in Europe.
:laugh2:

but... we're from USA and F550 does exist here :aw:

beside - we're probably the only country in here who does the drag race with a semi behind each vehicle
