Been Very Sick ...

I've only skimmed these posts since I haven't much time right now, so I hope I'm not duplicating somebody.

If your stomach isn't well, you shouldn't eat butter or anything very oily.

My mom believes that if I had gone to the doctor earlier this spring when I was sick for several months in a row, I would not have lost my hearing from ear infections. I don't know, maybe she's right. Who knows what might happen if you don't get doctor care at the right time. Many people might think I'm crazy for saying this, but I don't think my hearing was too high of a price to pay for learning a very important lesson, and that is if you think you should see a doctor, you should!!

I'm sorry you had a boring day. I hope you at least got some good advise out of it. You no doubt had to pay for it even if you didn't get anything out of it, so I hope you got something. Something good. I'm glad you'll be okay :)

thanks omega man.. I'm feeling okay. what it feels like is relasping. :( fever is spiking up a little and a crummy tummy, I only can hope it'll just go away in later of the day....coughing again...gah. very frustrating. not sure why. wasn't I just treated and wouldn't it be nice if there has Mucus Vaccumer out there?

simplemints, I can't eat anything very buttery or oily anyway - my stomach is allergic to it. but what about broth? they look so greasy ha. and I'll eat one of your mints; there could be a price I pay for. their boring same ol'advices are fluids, fluids, rest and rest ... they asked if I wanted some tylenol to bring home, I thanked no.

Take life easy Freckles. I hope you feel much better soon.

 Coughing up blood? sounds like you may have bronchitis or pneumonia, if I were you, I would definitely see a doctor.

I hope you feel better soon.

I agree with you and others..It is most likely pneumonia! I had it in Feb of this year and I was coughing up a little bit of blood. Drs ordered me to stay home from work after discovering that I had walking pneumonia. Pls go to the ER!!!

..what's walking pneumonia shelly? you know what, I SHOULD be getting pneumonia! my father has bunch histories of bronc/pneums and get it easily...really easy. I never had it in my life.

..unless it's not genetic?

in case you skimmed posts, I went ER yesterday ..

Let your cats take care of you, because they sure do know that you're sick. Let them lick on you, and your health will be much better. This is no joke.

I used to find that I could have root beer when I couldn't have anything else. I had soda crackers and root beer with lots of ice. I would get a pillow and blanket on the sofa and watch happy things on TV and take small sips from time to time and nibble on a cracker. The salt on the crackers is good for you and they don't have a bunch of oil like corn chips do, and they give you energy that you need to fight your illness. If you can't drink much because it hurts your stomach, the root beer should settle it a bit, just small sips. It helps hydrate you better than nothing at all. And the ice helps you swallow and not feel so sick. The happy things on TV .. well, happiness does wonders for the immune system, especially if it makes you laugh (try not to choke), and the TV helps you get your mind off how you feel so your body can heal without you getting in the way. Oh, and if you fall asleep with the TV on, no harm done. You need all the sleep you can get. Now days, I have 7up instead of root beer, but if root beer works, 7up doesn't work as well. If you're allergic to anything in root beer, it won't help you =D My mom swears diet works just as well as regular, but I swear it doesn't. If I'm that sick, I'm probably gonna lose 10 pounds anyway, so I don't need to worry about diet soda. Your body uses the sugar as energy for the immune system to fight your illness. Without being able to eat, it needs a source of energy.

Hmm, if you're still reading this, I'm impressed! I thought maybe you'd have fallen asleep!

I wonder if my mints would be good for you .. I make them with peppermint oil, so I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Maybe depends on how much you eat =)

tylenol @ Walgreens: 8 to 10 bucks.
tylenol @ hospital: 5 bucks.. why? my mommy work at there as Kasier's Lab Director.

Freckles, I'm glad that you're doing better. I hope you continue to improve, and follow "doctors' orders."

wowiee, thanks for the such post, simplemints.. :giggle: I read it a few nights ago and tried root beer/crackers idea - it worked - I feel a million times better today! I've been desperately watching them (my finace's AW root beers) sitting there and pondered if I could try some .. finally I grabbed a cold bottle along with saline crackers and watched movies (no cable here), and felt okay.

see, doctors isn't everything. ;) thanks reba, liebling and jiro. :aw:

oh, authie...very funny. ever had a cat? their tongues; some living sandpapers!! run for your life!

I'm glad you're feeling better :) I hate feeling sick, and will do anything to feel better :)

If one is sick, simply sleep all day, you'll be well the next day.

Hard time sleeping, simply light up a doobie.

Doesn't always work. I was sick for several months early this spring, and all I could do is sleep for days at a time, only got up for basic needs. Didn't get well until I ended up in hospital and was prescribed antibiotics. That worked.

I keep quoting myself for some reason;

"It depends on indivduals."

I'm sorry, I'm doing the same thing. For my part, it's hard to keep track of what's being said by whom all over the forum :giggle:

Please don't be offended by what I say. I openly admit to not having all the right answers, and I don't mean to hurt anybody, and I'm totally open to learning new things and view points!
