I used a plumber that was given an A+ by BBB and they did some work on my kitchen sink and , they put in a new faucet and spray and now I have a flood in my cabinet . I just called the plumber and they not have an emergency # to call ! I am pissed off !

Were you able to turn off the water?

BBB is always calling TCS trying to get him to join his company to BBB but he's not interested, nor impressed with them. He feels that they just want the fees without really enforcing quality control.

I got it off . Now I can't wash my dishes from supper. CRAP! I thought plumbers had emergency # . I left a message . I was smelling something when I was washing my dishes today and did not realize it was water on my cabinet . CRAP ! I am trying to get my condo fixed up to sell and now the inside of my cabinet is messed up!

Always a good idea to keep some camping equipment on hand. Paper plates, water bottles, etc. Also, you have no better excuse to go out to dinner.

I have some paper plates and I can't drink the city water so I always have bottled water . I guess I could wash my dishes in the bathroom sink , I would have to scrape all the food off first or have my dog Marty help me. I am so pissed off.

I went through this last summer with the heating/cooling company that half assed fixed our ac and it broke down the same week, I fixed it myself and reported to BBB as they wouldnt come back out without a service fee ( for a part they repaced and damaged as a result. Long story, but the company offered me $30 to remove the mark from BBB on them, I told them to "F" off, I had to spend $500 to repair it myself. BBB did nothing to enforce it. The company was pissed I wouldnt remove the mark, and I am pissed I was out 500 and a broken ac ( until I fixed it myself )

Thank you. I was going to have the plumber come over when my son in law and daughter where here. My son in law is 6 '4 and about weight 200 lbs. , I thought if the plumber saw my son in law he would be sure to do a good job. I called two other plumbers but they did not call back . So I used this BBB plumber . CRAP!

I agree BBB is a big joke. The truck I have now after I bought it stuff started messing up. Sunroof wouldn't open right, power sideview mirrors were acting up and a couple other things that should have been disclosed but wasn't. The dealership wasn't going to do anything so I filed a complaint with the BBB which didn't get me anywhere and they closed the case with no action just stated dealer and owner can't come to an agreement so the cased is closed as unresolved. BUT the dealer ended up fixing all of it after I threatened to sue them and file a complaint with the state consumer affairs office.

I brought a car that turn out to be a lemon and called BBB , they did shit. So I kept calling the dealership and they refuse give $600 to get my car fixed.
So I drove there and parked in front of the place and went and said I am not leaving till I get a check and if I don't get one I am driving my car through your window. I got my check , all $600 of it. I had a friend and her husband said I would not get any $$$ b/c he never got any $$$ from a dealership . Boy did I love proving him wrong .

Not surprised, I know some people have problem with BBB.

Have you tried Angie's List?

No , I want to get the plumber to come back as I paid $233 to labor plus I had to buy new parts so I spend over $300 already . If they do not come back I am reporting them to BBB and I hope they'll lose their A+ rating .

I'm scared that BBB may not care, so just take them with caution.

What you have to remember about the BBB is they only rate people that PAY THEM and it ain't cheap. So they could be the world's worst plumber but because they pay the BBB they get a favorable rating. Angie's list works kind of the same way, except with them the people that have problems give the person an unfavorable rating and those that do a good job go without getting a good rating because more people will call to complain than to give praise and this has been scientifically proven. Best thing to do is ask family or friends who is a good plumber and go with whom they recommend.

BBB is not always guaranteed that a business is great and have the best ratings. There is always unhappy customers and disagreements. There is business try to rip customers off for more work and things like that. That's what we all have to watch out for.

I sometime watch them do the work as to make sure they're doing the job properly and not do a crap job.

There is good and bad businesses out there Hopefully the plumber can come and straighten it out and eat up the cost to repair.

I been calling the plumber since 7 :17 AM and left 2 messages and I they did not call back so I just called then for the fourth time about 9:15 AM and I got the guy and he want to what is going on . WTF!! I am damn pissed off that is what is going on. I realize BBB is not a guarantee the person you hire will be any good but I would think the person would to keep their A+ rating with BBB. The plumber said he will be coming back around noon and I asked him what does he consider to be noon . I notice the difference people have their on idea when it's noon.

DD my cabinet smell and my condo it small so I can smell wet wood everywhere. Thanks for the hugs . I did have Marty help me clean out my cereal bowl encase I had to wash it in the bathroom's sink . I been checking out that ink too b/c I had work done in the bathroom the shower too.

That's why Hubby won't sign up his business with them.

TCS doesn't use BBB or Angie's List for his company, and he gets plenty of business. I don't know about other places but down here people seem to prefer referrals from people they know.

When we need a plumber we prefer to ask friends for referrals. The only time recently that we had to search online for an "unknown" was on a Saturday for an emergency leak. He did a good job but he totally overcharged for it.

For our tree cutters we went to their worksites and asked the homeowners how satisfied they were. Some recommended their crews, and one did not. (Obviously, we hired one of the recommended ones.)

WDYS, I know it's very hard to find good tradesmen if you don't know someone from referrals. :(
