aw...the prequel to Warner Bros. DC comics' series, Batman Begins. We discover the past and secrets behind Bruce Wayne's childhood to Gotham's Dark Knight, called the Batman. It was definetly different than the previous batman films...this one...is definetly dark, moody, and very stylish.

It TRULY feels so true to the Batman comics, definetly shows everything from billionaire Bruce Wayne running his own corporation into Gotham's dangerous streets who definetly needs a crime fighter, the dark knight who would bring you fear right into your very eyes and you would never, ever be unafraid of the dark again. Batman is the reason that you would be afraid of the dark.

The action? beauiful!
The characters? beauiful!
The customes and weapons? absloutely beauiful!

I'm not going to lie, but even though I actually like Spider-man better than Batman, but this one I seen tonight is definetly one of the best Batman films I've ever seen since 1989's Batman. :P It was definetly worth the ticket for your summer vacation. oh, and the Batmoble? chicks would definetly dig for that badass vehcile! ;)

A sequel to Batman Begins is already in the works...

July 31, 2006 - Warner Bros. has announced the title of the next film in the Batman franchise. The Dark Knight will be the name of the Chris Nolan-directed flick. And the studio confirms that Heath Ledger will play the role of The Joker. An official press release is expected on Tuesday, so watch for more news!

The confirmation comes after rumors had begun to circulate online that Ledger was reluctant to sign on to play The Clown Prince of Crime.

In other news, The Batman-on-Film.com website reiterates the rumor that the next Batman movie will feature multiple villains, namely Joker and The Penguin. The latter will reportedly be reconceived for the film as "a British arms dealer/mob boss with designs on Gotham."

And who is said to have been offered the role of The Penguin? Nolan reportedly wants previously rumored candidate Philip Seymour Hoffman, who ironically beat Heath Ledger in this past year's Oscar race for Best Actor. Like Ledger, however, Hoffman is said to be reluctant to join the sequel.

Finally, a BoF report claims that Ryan Phillippe is in the running for the role of D.A. Harvey Dent, a.k.a. the future Two-Face. Phillippe appeared in last year's Best Picture, Crash, and will next be seen in Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers

Thanks for sharing Steel. This just made my night. I knew a sequel was in the planning, but there were no details. As for Heath Ledger as the Joker, I'm going to have to see this before I judge, but I don't think he can pull it off well. Of course, we all know whoever performs the role will never be able to touch Jack Nicholson's peformance in the 1989 Batman movie. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Eh? They're "remaking" the first Batman movie? Oh boy...

Not really. They're simply making a new movie for the newer franchise. Batman (1989) and Batman begins are two completely separate franchises.

It wasn't even that long ago.

The old Batman movie was obviously old with all the annoying "BAM!" "POW!" "SOCK!" "BOOF!" crap compared with the new Batman movie that still looked more modern anyway. :)

It wasn't that long ago, but God knows they needed to separate the joy that is Batman Begins from the 90s franchise that had simply gone to crap. Did you not see Batman Forever or Batman and Robin? Ughh. I'm very happy they restarted the franchise because now they have a change to do it some justice. Batman Begins was a befitting start. Here's to hoping they can keep it up.

Personally, I dont think they really need to make anymore batman sequels after the prequel and I think the prequel was more than enough because it just show us HOW he becomes Batman so putting in another guy who plays as the Joker still sounds pretty silly to me because Jack Nicholson was definetly the best Joker in the history of Batman films, and the 1989 Batman movie was only 16 years ago. So seriously, do we REALLY need to make another movie with the "seperate" franchise of the same superhero? That sounds fucked up, if you ask me.
